2 Chronicles 7:1
1 “When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.”
Today’s Inspiration: His presence and His power matters. Our prayer must usher in the glory of God to fill the whole house that caused us to bow down in reverence. 2 Chronicles 7:1-2. The Lord chose to inhabit in the presence of His people.
We must approach the throne of grace with a sincere surrendered heart. The experience with God must be an inward spiritual one yet tangible and just as real. Our calling is not to a legal relationship with Him but to an experienced fellowship with Him. 1 John 1:1-3.
What do you think this passion be that those consumed by it would forsake all worldly fortune, pleasure, and pursuit in seeking to take the Gospel to others? Their passion was the deepest desire to bring men to personal knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Father. John actually advised us that we should pursue the same fellowship with God that he experienced. John’s fellowship was an intimate fellowship with his Master and Lord.
In fact now we are called to an even deeper inward fellowship with God than what Jesus’ disciples enjoyed while He was on the Earth. In fact the Communion we experience with Jesus is far more intimate than physical closeness. Our summons from the great King is to know Him, to enjoy Him and to possess Him. God is faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:9. Our experience should be the highest aspiration. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord I desire to draw close to you to talk with You to know You more. Nothing I desire Lord is to fellowship with You. In You, I am complete and can do all things. Without You we are clueless and can do nothing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
1 “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?.”
Today’s Inspiration: Let our soul pant for God for the living God as the deer pants for the water. Psalm 42:1-2. Our knowledge of Him tends to exceed our experience. We know of the things of God- His power, His Holiness, His love, His being of going far beyond what we have personally experienced Him. There is a breach between head knowledge and heart experience which is dissatisfying to the Lord.
God is inspiring us to seek an experience of the same things we understand. This seeking when it is finished will attain the desired goal for us which is the true experiential knowledge of Himself.
We tend to experience knowledge without yielding to the Living God. We can only impart what we possess. Without experiencing Him, we are actually being religious and become lovers of philosophical doctrines more than lovers of God, all under the house of truth. Our knowledge should propel us to seek the experience.
Jesus died to restore us to a fellowship with God. His death was the purpose of our developing relationship with Himself and His Father that He purposed should be ours through His death. Without the experience, we will not know the truth and the truth cannot set us free. John 8:32. Without the experience we are not His disciple. Being His disciple is totally yielding to Him and surrendering what we possess to Him for His use. Those who feared giving to the Lord are not His disciples because there is no fear of lack in loving a perfect God by handing over authority of our life and possessions to Him.
Seeking Him is the only thing that will really satisfy a born again heart which is the true fellowship of love with God that He intended from all eternity. God be praised.
Prayer: Nothing I desire Lord from you except to worship You in the Holy temple and to inquire after you and touching you for the nourishment of my soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
2 Kings 4:6
6 “Now it came to pass when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil cease.”
Today’s Inspiration: Sometimes we forget to look around our house to see what we have and turn to the Lord for wisdom to multiply our resources. This is what happened to the widow in Elisha’s time until Elisha pointed out that she has to collect as many vessels as possible and to fill them up with the oil she had. The oil did not run dry till there were no more vessels to fill. 2 Kings 4. They were to keep the process a secret without telling anyone. V4-7. This shows that as long as we have vessels the oil of the spirit will keep following. But if there is none it’s time to act to fill our needs.
God is always looking for vessels that will multiply spiritually. From the very beginning He told Adam to be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:28 Throughout scriptures He is always multiplying to meet the needs of those in need. What about us? Are we making miracles a normality in our life or is this a one time event? He gives us power to heal, power to deliver people from bondage, power for miracles and power for moral transformation. This is the full gospel in which we preach.
If we fail to understand that the death of Jesus on the cross as atonement we lose part of the heart of the Gospel and the ability to approach the throne of grace in times of need. God’s word is powerful enough to bring forth miracles. It’s the intimate relationship of knowing God that we find favor of enablement like Elisha.
Healing has been and still is a natural activity of Christians performed to demonstrate the power of God. The work of our Lord must be continued in greater measure with the continued presence of God in John 14:12-13. The reality of the Gospel must be manifested in physical healing to demonstrate God’s power. So whatever you do, you must do with great expectation of miracles from the Lord to show the mighty deeds of our Lord to attract people to seek the Lord.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil in 1 John 3:8. We must continue with this work. This is the heart of the Gospel. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord till Your presence go with me, I cannot topple the works of the enemy to set free the Body of Christ. Therefore grant me the grace of your continued presence in the ministry to Your people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
2 Kings 2:21
21 “Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ”
Today’s Inspiration: Faith is such an important component in life that we cannot afford to dispense off it as it opens the door to miracles. We need the faith of Elisha who cast a bowl to the source of water and declare Thus says the Lord I have healed the water, from it there shall be no more barreness or death. 2 Kings 2:21. God honors all declaration of His promises and the water remains healed to this day according to the words Elisha has spoken.
Elisha’s faith in God was so fervent that even though the Lord took Elijah away he was not perturbed but only desires that Elijah imparted double portion of his anointing to him. 2 Kings 2:9. Jesus’ disciples on the other hand was very disturbed when Jesus was taken away from them until they received the word from the Lord to wait for the impartation of the Holy spirit’s power so as to enable them to fulfill the great Commission. Luke 22:49. Faith therefore has to be a virtue that relies on the Holy spirit’s power and not our own ability when times are difficult.
With faith all things are possible even though circumstances seen impossible to have situation turn around. How many healing miracles have you heard because of faith? Faith requires calmness to open the door to miracles. Be still is always the words to act when times are tough. May we exercise full faith to receive miracles after miracles. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord I believe but help my unbelief. With God all things are possible. Therefore I shall put my full trust in Him to perform wonders for me and get me out of the wilderness like He did with the Israelites. The Lord who delivers yesterday is the same Lord who delivers today and tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
10 “My God of mercy shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies.”
Today’s Inspiration: Our God in His loving kindness will meet me. God will let me look triumphantly upon my foes. Psalm 59:10. God is my stronghold my present help in times of need.
Wherever Jesus goes, He reveals the root cause of the people’s problems and healed them. The root must be axed before the tree can grow healthily again. By chopping the branches and allowing the root to remain will not resolve the issue.
Today’s Inspiration: The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied. Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. May our heart live forever. Psalm 22:26.
There is power in praises. How good it is to give thanks to our Lord. In praises we have victory in Christ Jesus and in Thanksgiving we have breakthrough. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord may the words of my meditation be pleasing to You. You have been the one I trust since I was cast out from my mother’s womb. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5
4 “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”
Today’s Inspiration: Jesus words are loud and clear to His disciples that they should rise and pray so that they would not enter into any temptation. Luke 22:45. There are times in our life that even though we enjoy reading and meditation of the word, there are times that we cannot sustain staying awake. This is the sign we should look out for to confront the enemy that no tragedies befall us.
Whilst Jesus was warning the disciples to rise up and pray, Judas came with his persecutors to arrest Jesus. V47-53. How important especially at this age to watch and pray yet God’s people does not treat this as priority but instead come to God to meet their needs only.
Prayer in abiding Communion is a powerful weapon of warfare that Sanctifies and protects our heart from all evil. Prayer brings us to places we have never been before and it empowers victory in Christ Jesus. It’s at the abiding Communion that we find Christ so real in our life causing faith to arise that rests not in men but the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5.
We are to preach the Gospel not in cleverness of speech that the cross of Christ may not be void. What the soul is searching for us is a simple profound message that provides answers to them in times of need. A soul that is searching is a soul who will be easily convicted by a word bathed in the power of the Holy Spirit. God is looking for yielded vessels who are willing to commit to soul winning, a passion that is birthed out of the heart of God. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord may I be granted the Holy spirit’s power to demonstrate the power of the cross to a soul who is searching for peace and joy and for the One true God in the universe. May the message I present always convict the heart of a hungry soul you salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Today’s Inspiration: Heaven and Earth will pass away but His words are eternal and will by no means pass away. Matthew 24:35. Deep abiding relationship daily matters.
In all services, Communion is very special to us. It is the gateway to healing and deliverance. It is also where strategies of the enemy are discerned. It is a weapon of spiritual warfare. It is here where we find peace with God that surpasses all knowledge and understanding. Man’s ways should not be a stumbling block to our life. He is the way, the truth and the life where we gain entrance into His kingdom through the light that is burning deep in our heart daily as to the next move with God towards our glorious future.
Until our lamps are trimmed regularly like the five wise virgins we cannot enter His kingdom. Our lamp should not be dim or it cannot enlighten the dark paths that we inevitably tread in the midst of our struggle. When the lamp keeps burning in our heart, the word of God is so impactful that our faith filled words inspire others to victory in Christ Jesus. In times of struggle, even the words ‘Peace be with you’ speaks louder than your fears.
Only three instructions were given to Peter to feed the lambs, tend to the sheep and feed the sheep as an expression of his love for Him after He healed him of his guilt and shame at denying Jesus. John 21:15-17. Therefore tending to the flock and feeding the sheep are by no means the priority of the great commission that commands us to make disciples. Matthew 28:19-20. After saying this to Peter He asked him to follow Him. That should be our lifestyle even up to today. Spiritual growth of a church denotes the health of the church. So aim at spiritual growth in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. God be praised.
Prayer: You desire truth in the inward parts therefore I commit myself to You O Lord to direct my paths. Your ways are better and higher than our ways. Your words of direction will never return to you void. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
2 Peter 1:2
2 “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord…”
Today’s Inspiration: May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God this morning! 2 Peter 1:2. When God calls you, He will give you the grace and peace to walk worthy of your calling. The Lord knows the heart of those He has chosen. He knew the zeal of Peter to glorify God’s name and for this he has been bestowed the gift of preaching to convict sinful hearts and bring them to repentance. People are amazed at the wisdom he had in building the first day church so gloriously when he was only a mere fisherman.
So it is not how talented or how intellectual you are that won the favor of the Lord or be commended by Him but the commitment to obey even to death on the cross. Many of us long for this anointing but are not willing to pay the price. To be Jesus’ disciple we need to count the cost and to finish the race well. The harder the walk the more glorious we will be commended.
We need to grow fruitfully in the faith and to do so we need to seek to know the heart of our Father and what He desires. A fruitful character arises knowing the heart of the Father, His desires, and the way we should go without which we cannot attain godliness and patience as well as brotherly love. Brotherly love is the main key to godliness as it’s the second greatest commandment instituted by the Lord. Matthew 22:37-39. Seeking Him with all our heart and knowing every facet of life and what it contains should be our lifestyle. If we abound in love, perseverance and self-control we will not be lacking in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ that leads us to Holiness. It’s Holiness where the promise of provision embodies which has already been given to us. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord I need to be holy for you are holy. Lord, I thank you for your reckoning us righteous because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. By this righteousness and sanctification of your Holiness of which I am to be holy, you have protected us from the hands of the devil for which I am forever grateful to You. Let obedience be the key I hold that I may be fruitful in every good work. God be praised. Amen.
