19 “Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh…”
Today’s Inspiration: God’s principles are eternal for all ages. Disobedience definitely do not inherit a blessing since the time of Adam. For ages, God is always desiring to give an undivided heart and put a new spirit in His people and remove a heart of stone to be replaced with a heart of flesh which commands unity and compassion. Ezekiel 11:19. It’s only a compassionate heart that restores. Hardness of heart will bring forth division and destruction.
Therefore when transacting, you must first develop a trusting relationship with a potential client before making a business proposal. Chinese tradition has always emphasised harmony rather than agency and self control so have to have good relations with other people. Even Confucius wrote of the importance of controlling emotions in order to foster more harmonious interactions with other people especially within the family. This evolves around the truth of Love in the two greatest commandment of Jesus on emphasizing love in relation to others in Mt 22:37-39 and unity in Psalm 133:1-3. So as God’s family, we must be in harmony with one another. Before a Gospel is presented, building friendship is important.
Apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy to keep reminding the church to warn them before God against quarrelling about words, that have no value that only ruins those who listen. So be careful what you listen to. 2 Timothy 2:14. Speak only the voice of God the Father who is speaking through you. Matthew 10:20. So listen to the voice of the Spirit not the voice of fear, anger, deception or rejection etc. If they don’t listen, then Jesus says we should leave it and take back our peace. Mark 10:13. God be praised.
Prayer: God grant us Your peace and patience in dealing with my relationship with people that I might not sin against You. In Jesus name Amen.
9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.
Today’s Inspiration: When God speaks a word to your heart, His word enters your heart like a fire shut up in your bones. No matter how you want to hold it back, you cannot. Jeremiah 20:9. For the Lord Almighty examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, therefore it is good to commit all our thoughts and words to Him daily that whatever we think or speak are profitable to our listeners. V12.
The root of our angry reactions is self-pity which is destructive to our soul. God gives us emotions as assets and if we manage them intelligently, we will gain incredible value in our work and in our life so that our success can come to life. If you launch a project with a double mind, you are planning to fail. Nehemiah is a good example. He claims God will give him success to his project and declares that the enemy will not have the ability to lay hands on his project in Nehemiah 2:20 and it came to pass. Nehemiah 6:15.
When you shift your mind from possible failure to success, you will surely attain the standard you long to achieve. You need to trust God and trust that your commitment to Him will bring success, you will never fail. Proverbs 16:3. Emotions if handled intelligently will lead people to excellent performance.
Hence God gives us emotions as assets that drives us to a competitive advantage we need to thrive in a challenging world.
So make use of our emotional intelligence wisely and do not allow yourself to unconscious patterns of reaction. Whatever is in your thoughts will come to pass. Prov 23:7. God be praised.
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Today’s Inspiration: Our eye is our vital organ as it is the window to our soul. In my first encounter with Jesus at the time of salvation, my eyes were gazing intently at His eyes of love, unaware that my gaze was commanded by God to be used by Him to discern and speak to people by gazing at their eyes. Everytime I look at a hurting soul, they will start to cry. This was my ministry from the beginning of my ministry. The eyes according to scripture is the Lamp of our body. If the eye is good, the whole body is full of light. If the eye is bad, the whole body is full of darkness. How great will be the darkness! Matthew 6:22-23.
The eye is gateway to our soul. The eye is one of judgement and authority, discernment from right to error. Our eyes are Divine Providence to watch over our soul.
A person’s thoughts can be ascertained through looking at his or her eyes. Therefore be careful to watch over your eyes. Whilst God used our eyes for His purpose, Satan also used our eyes to blind us to the words of truth. Therefore do not be deceived by Satan for he is always there to blind our eyes to the truth to destroy us. Let Jesus’eyes of redemption set us free. John 8:32. We therefore must be mindful of our eyes that might cause us to sin against God’s law of covetousness and immorality. So do not be driven by lusting after wrong goals. God be praised for His truth to set us free.
Prayer: O Lord God, watch over our soul and protect our eyes in Jesus name.
22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.
Today’s Inspiration: God reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:22. We need to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit so that we will not be easily ensnared by the voice of deception. What is important is the voice of the Holy Spirit who is speaking truth to you. Do not be easily deceived by flattering lips nor words of condemnation.
Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is speaking to you. Apostle Paul warned Timothy to avoid godless charter because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. In participating in these conversations, we have strayed away from the truth. 2 Timothy 2:16.
As God’s people, we must know what our great commission is in Matthew 28:18-20. Instead of participating in sharing the Gospel, even matured Christians are trying to be involved in conversations regarding politics. Are we fighting a good fight of faith to win the race for an imperishable crown of righteousness by extending His kingdom more than the world’s kingdom? God is calling us to serve in areas we are anointed to serve and do it well. Our righteousness in Christ must be more than the world’s righteousness to signify we are Jesus’ disciples.
God’s counsel today is not to neglect the gift which had been given to you but be diligent to perform what you have been commissioned to do so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them because if you do so, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Timothy 4:15-16. God be praised.
4 “…And give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and your descendants with you, that you may inherit the land in which you are a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.”
Today’s Inspiration: One of the prime responsibilities of a navigator is to leave behind a trail for their descendants and the greatest legacy we can ever leave behind is the gift of faith that can do wonders. This gift of faith was handed to Isaac which in turn was imparted to Jacob. Genesis 28:4. The blessing mentioned here is the blessing of the gift of faith.
While parents feel they need to leave an inheritance (wealth) to their descendants, it’s a timeless perspective of God to leave the best gift to our descendants and that is the gift of faith. When you leave to your descendants wealth, you do not know if they will steward them well but if you leave them gift of faith, they might accumulate more wealth than they could ever imagine which might surpass what you have. Abraham’s faith left a great legacy to his descendants.
God always test us on our future through our eyes of faith. Joseph went to Egypt as a slave but because he saw his future through the eyes of faith, he became prosperous and successful, even though he comes from a dysfunctional family, full of sexual immorality, jealousy and strife. His eyes of faith saw God’s vision on his life fulfilled. Genesis 50:4. God allowed us to go through uncertainties of life to burn into our hearts of the assurance ahead of us. We need to know who our God is. God is who He says He is, and will do what He promises to do. Isaiah 55:11.
May this message bless you with the eyes of faith to see your future by obeying His instructions. Humanity fall because they tend to see their future through the eyes of natural understanding. Let’s see our future through the eyes of faith since we are in Christ Jesus. God be praised!
Prayer: Lord make me an instrument of righteousness to see my future through my eyes of faith passed down from Abraham. In Jesus name, Amen.
8 He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me.
9 Surely the Lord God will help Me; Who is he who will condemn Me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; the moth will eat them up.
Today’s Inspiration: God is the author of Divine order and not an author of confusion and evil. It is the Sovereign Lord who helps you and sustain you. It is the devil who accuses you and condemn you. Isaiah 50:8-9.
Do not dwell in your spirit, words of condemnation for whatever you believe it will come to you. Proverbs 23:7. Likewise if you believe if your faith even as small as a mustard seed can do wonders for you, if you ask the mountain of problems to be removed, they will be removed from you. Nothing will be impossible for those who believe. Matthew 17:20.
Joshua was able to perform wonders in conquering Jericho because he believes God’s word will perform what were uttered from the mouth of God to him in Joshua 1:5 & 9. The word that grants him assurance of victory was that God’s presence will be with him wherever he goes. As a result of his faith, the people believed in him that caused them to utter that whatever he commanded them they will do and wherever he sends them, they will go only if the Lord his God be with him as He was with Moses. V16-17. How important is God’s presence!
God’s presence is normally illustrated by the good fruit of the spirit in you through your attitude, behavior and character as well as your action. People will not follow a leader who has no confidence and who does not have assurance of victory in their spirit. We can identify this through our spiritual discernment which is so essential in one’s life. God be praised.
20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, but the blameless in their ways are His delight.
Today’s Inspiration: We were created to be fruitful and multiply and not for disaster. Disaster comes to us only when we are negligent for everything we do are subject to the law of spiritual forces of obedience or rebellion. Man’s fall starts with disobedience in Adam. The Lord detests man of perverse heart but He delights in those who are blameless. Proverbs 11:20.
The global crisis today is due to man’s negligence of God’s law and statutes. Indeed reckless words pierce like a sword. Only tongue that speaks well of others promotes healing. Proverbs 12:18.
Using God’s word to the right people at the right time is important. Job’s friends were unable to discern God’s purposes on Job and thought their advice were right before God’s eyes but it turned out otherwise. Tables turned and Job was commanded by God to pray for his friends instead. How many times have we experienced such a situation where our counsel boomerangs? Job knows about God’s purpose in dealing with men but could not discern what the dealings were all about until God opened his eyes to the secrets of His heart. You may think you are doing all the right things but only God can discern the heart of men for His eyes go to and fro searching out their innermost being. Proverbs 20.27. Let’s get back to hearing distinctly His wise counsel. God be praised.
Prayer: Make me an instrument of praise always and grant me a discerning heart that my counsel of others become Your wise counsel. My hope is in Your glory and Hope shall not disappoint us in Jesus name, amen.
1 The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
Today’s Inspiration: Maturing in our relationship with God is the only way to refrain from wavering in the faith. Though we seem stuck at circuit breaker season and uncertain of the future, we need to cling on to the truth that we serve an awesome God who knows the events from beginning to end n end to beginning. The Lord still reigns and the world is firmly established. It cannot be moved. Psalm 93:1. As long as you are planted in the House of God, you will flourish and whatever you do will prosper if you truly know where your heart is.
Know full well the Lord is your fortress and your Rock in whom you can take refuge. When anxiety is great, turn to Him for comfort for only He can bring joy to your soul. Psalm 94:19. Whilst happiness is from external circumstances, joy is a well being that comes from satisfaction of your heart that only the Lord can produce in you.
Joy is like a spring in your heart that no matter what circumstances you go through in the external, there is an inner joy, like a spring in the well that pushes it’s way through to reach the surface notwithstanding the mud thrown into your well. It’s a joy that cannot be fathomed. Joy grants you strength to overcome every obstacle in your life. Jesus set an example of a life lived with joy to enrich everyone around Him. Remember the radiance of triumphant joy shining right through His life even in the darkest moment. Wherever He goes, He left a mark of hope and joy in people’s heart. This should be the lifestyle we should adopt. Look at the joy He gave to Zaccheus the customs tax collector when He told him that He was going to his house. Whilst others shun and condemn him, Jesus showed His love for him.
So do not worry if people criticise, condemn or don’t appreciate you and leave you in the lurch, just remember God’s love for you is everlasting and loves to bring joy to your heart and to fill your vacuum. Only true love can generate faithfulness, reliability and loyalty to a commitment made with you. The test of people’s loyalty to you is when you have nothing to offer. Joy is one fruit of the spirit so needed in relating to others healthily. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord grant me joy in my heart that I might be triumphant all the days of my life. In Jesus name Amen.
