12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.
How important it is to heed the Voice of God. Today people disregard the work of the Lord nor consider the operation of His hands. Isa 5:12. The root lies in Cain disregarding the warning of the Lord. His anger and revengefulness leads to murder of his brother Abel. See Gen 4:7.
Consequence: All men inherit corrupt sin nature hence sibling rivalry inevitable today. Ps 51.5.
Sibling rivalry is the cause of one not having oneness. Many a time like Cain God warned us of inevitable sin but we allowed it to creep in slowly leading to destruction of our life. Gen 4:7. It is important to guard our words so as not to stir the nest of purported harmless cubs.
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
To avoid sibling rivalry, parents themselves should know how to conduct themselves as godly parents who have the ability to recognize and treasure each child’s spiritual qualities and abilities and get them to compliment each other.
Harmony within the family like a symphony brings forth oneness. It starts with woman being bone of the bone and flesh of the flesh of the man.. Gen 2:23. Members of the family including the family of Christ should love each other like dad loving mom as his own flesh.
All differences within the family should be addressed.
There is power in forgiveness. Its only when Joseph forgives his brothers that he received the best land in Egypt for his father and brothers to graze the flock highly protected from famine and pestilences in the land of Goshen. Ge 47:6 and the greatest legacy from his father in Gen 49:22-26.
Its only when Jacob wrestled with God for his blessings that he received forgiveness from his brother Esau (Gen 33:.4) and at old age received an inheritance more than his ancestors. See Gen 49:26.
There is power in forgiveness.
