17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
My prayer for you today is that God will speak to you this morning and open your eyes to today’s devotion. Obedience will always bring blessing and favour. Esther has been obedient to Mordecai and this is one factor that contributes to her favour from King Ahasuerus. God always has a purpose to grant us favour. For Esther, God’s favour led to her position which led to provision and protection of God’s people. Esther 2:17. For Esther she was chosen to advance God’s Kingdom, to bless His people and accomplish His purpose. What is God’s purpose for your position at marketplace today? She obeys every word Mordecai says and the oneness in them brings forth fruit and favour. Esther 2:20.
We must always realise that God placed us in position to advance His purpose. Always seek the welfare of God’s people anytime you find yourself in an advantaged position. Esther 4:12-14.
In verse 14 Mordecai said who knows she has been placed in the position at a time like this. No position is secure. Only God’s purpose is eternal.
Esther is a model for us in the end days. She reveals the power of a life unconditionally devoted to God and His people. She risked prominent position, wealth and her own life to intercede on behalf of His people. His total devotion to the God and to the task saved her people from destruction.
Living holy life means we need to worship only one God. Mordecai in the face of threats of death and persecution, models steadfastness to worship God alone and refused to bow down to Haman.
People of faith do not need to seek recognition or strive. They can rest in the Lord and believe for great results and rewards. God sees all things, knows all things, and will reward in due time. Matthew 6:1-6. As we grow in Godliness, we ask and expectantly seek God’s favour and purpose for our life. So wherever you are placed, model godliness.
