19 A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Today’s Inspiration: Do not be easily offended as it breaks relationship. Proverbs 18:19.
Unresolved offences caused bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness which grieve the Holy spirit. When He is grieved, it undermines our unity and prayer which is vital for revival. Also the flow of the Holy spirit’s power, counsel and comfort will be stifled and opens door of opportunity to the devil to accuse, torment, discourage and ultimately defeat us. This blocks our power to give or receive God’s mercy, which is very important for our healing. Any relationship with Him that is compromised, prevents us from giving God all the glory and hinders us from being a living example of Christ.
We can only live in power if we can come to God for forgiveness of our perception and address the purported offence and forgive each other’s perceived offence. Offences are normally perception or presumption which is a sin, Psalm 19:13, not a reality. We must make right with each other before we can worship God. Matthew 5:23-24.
We have to guard our tongue. Proverbs 18:20 a man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of our mouth. Do our words speak life or death to ourselves or to others? Life and death lies in the power of our tongue. Proverbs 18:21. Our well being and our health are a reflection of our thoughts and whatever we say of our situation that we are going through.
Stay tuned with the Holy spirit and speak God’s words that edify, exhort and comfort to each other to bring healing to our soul whatever the circumstances.
