1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
Today’s Inspiration: It is a season of waiting upon the Lord. The Bible is full of instructions of waiting upon Him, to wait patiently for God’s deliverance. Psalm 40:1, Job 40 and Isaiah 40:31.
Life’s expectations today is about instant deliverance by the Lord. Throughout scripture it is about watching, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong and let all be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:13. As you wait upon the Lord, your faith is renewed and strengthened. Before Joshua can pull down the stronghold of Jericho, he waited upon the Lord and the Lord strengthened him to be strong and courageous and to fight with the strongest spiritual weapon ‘ the word of God.’ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We ought to speak less of our afflictions and more of God’s word and testimony. To resist the negative, poisonous emotions and attitudes, our thoughts must be filled with the power of God. Declaring alone is not enough. Believing the word that are deposited in our thoughts far surpasses our natural understanding of God’s words. John 11.40.
We need a revelation and an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ like Joshua and Jacob. Our mouth is often the weapon of our destruction. James 3:6. Often we want to take back the words we said or some of the actions we do to find that we have already ‘killed’ the soul of others.
Controlling our word is therefore extremely important. Jesus says out of our heart comes evil or good thoughts. Matthew 12:36. ‘Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ‘ They reflect the intents of our hearts. People discern your character by your words. People tend to claim they have good heart but they cannot control the tongue. This contravenes God’s truth in Matthew 12:36. Good or bad intentions comes from the heart. You are the reflection of your heart. Your tone and your face as well as your body language is the mirror of your character. So watch your behaviour and attitudes each day.
When we offer our life to God as a living sacrifice, we find we have more control over our tongue, our thoughts, our attitudes, our emotions, our bodies and all our fleshy desires. Romans 12:1.
As you apply these truths to your life, you will experience abundant life which includes renewed health, energy and vitality. Your soul will also be refreshed and you will see many rewarding days in your life.
Have a blessed week ahead focusing upon Jesus as you pass the day. Hebrews 12:2.
