Joshua 1:3, 5
3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Today’s Inspiration: As I preached yesterday Joshua did not conquer three cities which he thought were insignificant which over generations become monstrous threats to Israel. There are times in life which we think certain things are insignificant but they eventually turn out to be disastrous in our life. Joshua could easily conquer The Anakims in these cities when they were small and insignificant because of God’s promises of victory in Joshua 1:3 and 5. But he didn’t because of the past bad report of the ten spies in Moses days. Many a time the enemy put fear in our hearts because of past bad events. Unless we let go, we keep having breakup of relationships.
Relationship are vital in life for we were created for fellowship. God had forgiven us but many a time we cannot forgive others because we cannot forgive ourselves. Jesus spoke much about loving one another and forgiveness, the key to healing and breakthrough. Matthew 6:14-15.
As I preached yesterday the murmuring in our heart hinder our progress and it is important we get out of the murmuring and press on to the mission given to us. Everyone meant good for us but because of our pride and events of the past which we are not willing to let go, the devil use this weakness to get at us. We perceive rejection and condemning before others reject us.
What will Jesus do when his disciples are in conflict? This is something we have to ponder. Jesus says we will be rewarded what He sees us done in secret. Matthew 6:7. So let’s focus on the mission given to us and claim our reward. Joshua ignore all the murmuring of the Israelites. He focus only on the assignments God has given him. Of the 5-6 million people only 40000 cross with him to the promised land and were allotted inheritance. Will you be the chosen ones that will receive the inheritance? Attitude determines our altitude. The higher we go the more challenges.
To conquer our Jericho we need to walk in holiness. Joshua had to take out his sandals and reverence God before he could cross the promised land and conquer Jericho. To conquer Jericho all 40000 of the people have to circumsize their heart. Joshua 4:13, 5:4 and 7.
Let’s walk right with God. As we are sanctified by God we should leave our old self and move to the new. 2 Corinthians 5:17, 7:1.
