10 For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Today’s Inspiration: Do we have patience to wait long enough for God to free us? Normally we require instant results but God has His way and time. We cannot hasten our deliverance neither can we thwart His plans. We have to just go with the flow of the Holy Spirit.
It was God’s will that the Israelites go into captivity for 70 years, after which He will prosper and answer their prayers. Jeremiah 29:10-11. The prophecy came to pass as Daniel was reminded and Cyrus was used by God to perform His will.
God always meant good for us but we cannot perceive because we always look at our current circumstances. Sometimes they are so huge, we find it impossible to perform but biblical records prove Him to be a faithful God and love His people hence the chastening. He rebuked those He loved and in His timing He brings them out of captivity. We therefore should not dread His chastening nor be discouraged when we suffer rebuke for He scourges every son whom He receives. Hebrews 12:5-6.
It’s a test of faith to produce your patience. Whatever may happen, we need the enduring faith to trust God without wavering. Will be able to endure when times are tough fighting infirmities especially, is a question we need to reflect today! Remember God is faithful. 1 Thessalonians 5:24.
