20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Today’s Inspiration: Do not be alarmed at what is happening around you. God has planned ahead of time a harvest beyond measure though we cannot fathom the extent. When you feel you are on the verge of collapse, God sent His word to heal you and deliver you from destruction. Psalm 107:20.
Following this verse, God stirred David’s spirit to give thanks to Him for His goodness and for His wonderful works to children of men. He also urged him to advise them to sacrifice the sacrifices of Thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing so that their names will be recorded in His Book of remembrance. V21-23. Those who cry out to the Lord in times of trouble, He will deliver them from darkness. V28. David keeps spurring us to give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and exalt Him together in local assembly. Since we can’t do it naturally let’s do it in one unity of the spirit.
Giving thanks is a wonderful Spiritual weapon that drives out darkness from us. Notwithstanding what you see, King David also encouraged us that God will not forsake those in lack but urge us to keep sowing and planting seeds of faith that we may yield a fruitful harvest He had prepared for you. He who bless this season will multiply greatly. He will not allow you to decrease but on the contrary will bless and multiply you greatly. V36-38.
God is always in the business of blessing His people and grant them protection and peace. Whilst we have opportunity, let’s make right with God and remember His sowing and reaping principle. Galatians 6:7, 2 Corinthians 9:6.
If we stop sowing, we are hindering His mighty hand to stretch out to bless us. Let us be steadfast in our walk and remember the years of plenty He has given to you. What we are sowing is only a portion of what He has given us to steward. When we are faithful in this little thing He will give us greater things. Matthew 25:23, 29. He has promised this to the disciples through Jesus and He had shown us in the parable of the talents. When we bury the portion given to us to steward it’s multiplication, we do not know His heart and He will set us aside. God gives us first His precious son Jesus as a sacrificial offering, and what He asks of us is nothing compared to the cost He paid the debt for us. It’s when you have lack that you need to sow.
Let’s not miss this opportunity to invest in His kingdom so that God will not cast us aside like the man with one talent who buried it and Jesus says to cast him into the fire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25:30.
King David always gives his best and exalt Him above the heavens and His glory above all the Earth so that he and his men will always be delivered and be safe in His mighty right hand. Sowing also assures us of our security under the shadow of the Almighty. Let us dwell in the shadow of the Almighty especially at this hour so that even if arrows fly we are not afraid because we are under the shadow of His Almighty. Psalm 91:1.
So let’s come to the altar of Mercy and offer our thank offering and peace offering at this time as we near The Feast of Pentecost and remember that all offerings and tithes are holy to the Lord and must be given with a generous and willing heart as King David told His people that God is testing their hearts and have pleasure in uprightness and he encouraged them to sow willingly and cheerfully after which He prayed to God to remember all those with good intentions of the thoughts of their hearts and let them fix their eyes upon Him 1 Chronicles 29:18.
The Feast of Pentecost will be a good time to plant our first fruits. As King David and His people do wholeheartedly in obedience to the words released through Him, let’s do likewise that our household will not have lack of health or material wealth. God be praised.
