12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Today’s Inspiration: Living simply is the message I have been sending to everyone who comes for counselling. Life is not about self-sufficiency but sufficiency in Christ. I was inspired in my early years of ministry, by Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:12 in which he learned to being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. God had to strip us before we can be of any good in His kingdom. Until we come to the end of our resources, we cannot discover His. Moses was no good to God in Pharaoh’s court.
When you are under trial, who can stand with you permanently? When you are of no use to your friends, they depart. I don’t know of any painless way to die to self. Jesus said a grain of wheat must die to bear much fruit. John 12:24. Until we die to self, the life of Jesus cannot be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:11. Indeed brokenness is the key to ministry.
Until we are broken to the core with no place to turn like Job or even Joseph and Moses, we would not understand the compassion so needed to respond to the emotional needs of people who have lost hope.
It’s time to preach sermon on brokenness that more could be saved. Today very few people hear sermon on brokenness. It’s the greatest omission to to the Great commission
Till we come to a crossroad of not knowing where to turn, we cannot connect to God’s heart the way He required of us. Many don’t seek the face of God in times of trial but dwelt in self pity which leads them to greater darkness. It’s time to deepen our eternal streams of life and seek His purpose for our life rather than temporal solutions that don’t last. There are reasons why God takes his children through His ministry of darkness.
Till we deny self, we cannot be useful instruments for God. He died for all that those who live should not live for themselves but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:15. Living simply had been my portion since knowing Christ having been stripped to know Him dearly and lovingly and up today I have seen the hand of God who never shortchanged me. I believe strongly that trials are meant for our good that we can withstand the uncertainties of life and inspire others to do so. Therefore if you are going through trial do not lose heart. God is a gracious God who eventually will astound you with Miracles you can never imagine. His love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:8.
