19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.
Today’s Inspiration: It is written that we should make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification Romans 14:19 for the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy spirit because anyone who serves God in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. V17-18. What the devil chooses to do is always to steal our peace through causing us to judge others by what we see. This causes conflicts. Therefore to keep the peace, we need to guard our hearts. We all have to give an account of ourselves to God. V12.
The highest goal of man is to be the dwelling place of God. If we abide in Him, He abides in us.
Christianity is founded on forgiveness, the modelling of Jesus when he commit his spirit to God at the cross. It is only when we forgive that we have peace. We should always first bring harmony to the home then to the outside world. Hebrews 12:14 addresses the required sanctification that we must have in order to see the Lord.
Righteousness and peace should be our primary pursuit as together they bring true joy.
Only the peace of God can trample satanic attacks on us. The Gospel is a Gospel of peace. Peace of God is one of the greatest weapons to aid us in warfare. If Our walk with God is right then peace will always be in our hearts that kicks out divisions that brings strife and bitterness.
The dwelling place of God is Shiloh meaning peace. The meaning of Jerusalem is also peace. When we abide in Him, we enter into His peace. This is obviously the basic characteristic He seeks in those who dwell in Him.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy spirit this morning as you start your day at work. Romans 15:14.
