1 Corinthians 15:58

58  ‘”Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Today’s Inspiration: 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain. V57 Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through Lord Jesus Christ. To maintain this victory, we need to remind ourselves daily that Jesus had already won the victory for us and hence we should enjoy the benefits of salvation and not revert back to old nature.

First and foremost we must remember that the Bible says we have no condemnation once we are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1. Hence we are free from sin, guilt and shame, now that we walk according to the spirit and not to our flesh, which is our old nature. The devil has no more power to judge us as he has been stripped of all powers to judge us at Cavalry.

We have new ability to say NO to the devil’s accusation or destructive tactics, once we are a believer. As a believer, we connect to the spirit’s power, who gives us better thoughts, thoughts of healing and not strife.

Our problems in life is due to lack of self control. This is because you do not allow the Holy Spirit to control your thoughts. We need to give the Holy Spirit free access to our thoughts to replace the thoughts of old nature of bitterness, shame, doubt, unbelief, thoughts of anger and vengeance. These are poisonous to the soul. Only the Holy Spirit can grab hold of our thoughts and change them for His glory. With spirit filled thoughts, you walk in the spirit and no longer walk in the flesh anymore. By so doing, you walk to your freedom. Galatians 5:16.

We have to ask ourselves if Jesus has all of our old nature? Have we fully surrender to Him? If so, why then are we still gripped with fear when the adversities come upon us with a flood? As believer, we are no longer debtors to the flesh to live according to the flesh. If we still live according to the flesh, we are still Spiritually dead. We must put to death the deeds of the flesh to live in the liberty God has given us. Romans 8:12-13 and Galatians 5:1. If you die daily to the flesh, then the new power inside you is strengthened and you can do all things through Christ who continually strengthens you inside. Philippians 4:13. It’s this strength who gives you the power to win the battle over all your enemy which is the mind of old nature and manifested naturally in wealth, peace, health and prosperity.

So turn over your thoughts of fear to God whenever you are faced with an adverse situation for He did not give you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a strong mind. 2 Timothy 1:7. Always remind yourself that God is good and is in full control of your life. Jesus at Calvary had condemned sin in the flesh so must we. Remind yourself not to revert to fleshy nature no matter how tough a situation knowing that fleshy nature cannot please God. Romans 8:8. Since Christ dwells in you, you are not to move in the flesh but in the spirit. V9.

Therefore work diligently to mortify the fleshy nature and all be well with you. God be praised!
