Today’s Inspiration: Spiritual Disciplines are best exercised in the midst of our relationships with our husband or wife, our brethren in Christ, our friends and neighbours. Joy is the keynote to spiritual disciplines. Singing, dancing, even shouting to the Lord characterise the disciplines of spiritual life. The primary equipment is longing after God. Psalm 42:1-2. Deep calls to deep Psalm 42:7. Inwardly you long to launch into the deep.
We need to maintain our life with God by exploring the inward life. First and foremost we have to build ourselves in the Holy faith by praying in the spirit. Secondly we are to keep ourselves in the Love of God looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude verses 20-21.
Praying continuously in the spirit is for self edification and building yourself in the Holy faith. We must persist in our loving attitudes and behaviour through the Holy spirit. When dealing with those who are in error, it is important we use wisdom and discernment with them. Verses 23.
The Bible called to the people to disciplines of fasting, prayer, worship and celebration.
In fact spiritual disciplines are an inward and spiritual reality. The inner attitude of the heart is more crucial than the mechanics for coming into the reality of spiritual life. The life that is pleasing to God is not a series of religious duties but to experience a life of relationship and intimacy with God. James 1:17.
Finally we must always demonstrate Christ’s love by our living standards of God and loving attitudes that we will be able to bring more to the Kingdom of God. Verse 23.
