1 John 3:20
20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Today’s Inspiration: Self-condemnation is very strong in the hearts of men because of the wrong environment and culture we are brought up with. God’s word says that whenever our hearts condemn us, we must set our hearts at rest in His presence. For only God knows our hearts. He is greater than our hearts and He knows everything. 1 John 3.19-20. Only He can understand our hearts. Others tend to have wrong perceptions of us because they are also hurting and vulnerable.
We must be liberated from self-condemnation so that we have confidence before God to receive our mandate to cradle our mission. Whatever we ask, He will answer because we ask according to His will and obey His commandments. Furthermore once we are cleansed and have clear conscience, we are able to hear accurately what He wants us to do. Once we can hear accurately, we do what pleases Him and this will bring honour to His name. Verses 21-22.
We are God’s chosen ones. We are participants of God’s eternal plan- the children of grace chosen for a purpose. His sovereign choice places us in a position of confidence and security and hence we can pray with confidence.
If a helpless widow who had no weapon but her tool of persistence could get her desire fulfilled by a hardhearted unjust judge, how much more will God’s people receive what they need from a gracious Father. Luke 18:2.
Trust Him with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5. God will not tolerate excuses. He wants the cry of a heart out of difficulties and failures of life. A broken spirit He will not despise.
