Psalm 139:1-3

1 Lord, You have searched me and known me.

You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.

You comprehend my path and my lying down. And are acquainted with all my ways.

Today’s Inspiration: God understands our thoughts so well even when we are distant from Him. He has searched us and know us and even knows when we are sitting and rising up. He is familiar with all our ways. Psalm 139:1-3.

God will never forget His holy promise to us. Psalm 105:42. Looking at the global pandemic, it appears that the hammer of the whole Earth has been cut apart and broken. Babylon has become a desolation among the Nations. Jeremiah 50:23. It is easy to be faithful when He provides for everything. But what if He strips everything from us, would we remain faithful? It’s a test of faithfulness for God’s people. When will He bring us back to dignity? These will be the questions we ponder at a time where testing is severe at a time like this.

God wants us to be dependable upon Him even if it is costly. A faithful person needs to be dependable. If a friend cannot be dependable at the time of stress, then he really isn’t a friend. There are friends who left us at a time of crisis like Job.

King Saul’s son Jonathan provides completely the best illustration of faithfulness or dependability. Jonathan risked his throne by being faithful to David. Faithfulness is indeed a costly virtue. Only the Holy Spirit can enable us to pay this price. Proverbs 27:6 says that faithful are the wounds of a friend.’ Only true friends check our character traits for our benefits but alas people prefer kisses from a friend which can be disastrous in the end. This is the reality of man. We always learn things the hard way.

God knows David’s heart and hence He sends Nathan to check his wrong doing and placed him on track. If Nathan had fear to check David, then there will be no heritage for the Messiah to establish His kingdom.

A friend cares enough about you and will not allow you to continue in your wrong attitude or action that will ultimately harm you. Appreciate your true friend and love one another. God be praised!
