39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Today’s Inspiration: It’s sad to learn that during circuit breaker that is aimed to bring family unity and protection from covid-19 has led to more depression, mental problems and family violence. This has contravened The second greatest commandment by Jesus of loving our neighbor as ourselves. Matthew 22:39. Our behavior reflects our attitude towards the fifth to tenth commandments handed down by Moses which is our behavior and attitudes towards mankind.
Today we want to understand God’s interpretation of Grace which had been compromised by churches today. Let’s get back to the truth. God allowed the Israelites to conquer the King of Amorites and also the King of Bashan (Numbers 21:33-38) but for the Moabites, it was not God’s timing yet to conquer Moab because their mission is to cross over River Jordan to conquer Jericho, the strongholds of fear that caused hopelessness. Numbers 33:48. Amorites the inferior tribe had been conquered so why get back to fear and inferiority? We don’t need to fear. It’s the enemy who should fear us.
Leviticus 19:17-18 reminds us of family relationships as second priority to our relationship with God. Today the world is in a mess because God’s law has not been observed and man tend to go their separate ways not wanting to acknowledge God in the flesh Jesus our Messiah who is both Man and God who has come to redeem the world by His sacrificial love even to death on the cross bearing our sins and iniquitie.
V17 talks about not hating our brother in the heart. If we hate our brother we are still walking in darkness and not in the light. He has allowed darkness to blind his eyes. 1 John 2:9, 11. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15.
The root lies in Satan destroying Adam and Eve’s faith in God and His commandment. Faith is a spiritual quality and if this is lost, we are no longer a spiritual being but in Spiritual darkness that leads to death and destruction. Adam and Eve was enticed by the spirit of jealousy that caused them to covet the wisdom and knowledge that God felt it was not good for mankind as God knows the nature of the heart of man before the world began.
Mankind’s internal spirit is infected by the foul spirit of Satan who first caused Adam to disobey God’s commandment through his enticement of lies about God’s goodness to us and deprivation of God’s wisdom and knowledge. With more knowledge there is more grief. Isn’t it true?
When sin entered the world through Adam, the whole human race is infected by the foul spirit of Satan who is all out to enslave our mind to darkness. Satan is father of lies and a liar from the very beginning. John 8:44.
When the Jews claimed their father is God, Jesus rebuked them that since they want to kill Him, they are from Satan and not from God as he has been a murderer from the very beginning. If they are from God they will believe in Him for He comes from God. He who is of God hears His words. As they choose to kill Him and do not believe, they are not from God. John 8:41-47.
Apostle Paul exhorts us to walk worthy of our calling with all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3. Most family conflicts are due to anger and jealousy because of perception of Injustice. Once we are in Christ Jesus, this old nature must die and replaced with a new mind of peace, calmness and self control. As a remedy in order not to grieve the Holy spirit, we must obey fully God’s word of leaving bitterness, wrath, anger and idle words and in replacement of these be kind to one another, tender-hearted, having a forgiving spirit always even as God in Christ forgives us. Ephesians 4:30-32. Be imitators of God as His children and walk in love as Christ loved us. Ephesians 5:1.
My prayer is that you be strengthened in your inner man so that you have self-control in bearing one another’s burden rather than to provoke one another. May God’s peace and grace be with you all who love Jesus Christ our Lord in sincerity. God be praised.
