29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Today’s Inspiration: Have you ever examined for a moment what Jesus meant in Matthew 11:29 to take his yoke from him and learn from him for he is gentle and humble at heart and we will find rest for our souls? Taking up the yoke of Jesus truly means coming under His authority. It means abiding in Him, doing only what He wants us to do and going only where He leads us to go.
The yoke of Christ prevents us from going wherever our heart or feet wants to take us or wherever we are summoned by others. Without submission to Jesus we cannot grow and thus hinders us from effectiveness. Just as Jesus submit to the Father we need to submit to Jesus. Philippians 2:10-11.
Our self-will, self-ambition must submit to the cross of Christ. We no longer live to please ourselves but only Christ. Galatians 2:20.
We must not put our sinful self on the throne of our hearts, but let Jesus be the centre of our hearts. Submission to Jesus is the key to fruitfulness and satisfaction. Hebrews 10:7. Obedience should be motivated by love and desire to glorify Him. We cannot do His will without Divine love. We must include God in our thoughts, word and activity. God be praised!
