13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm..
Today’s Inspiration: God is gracious and compassionate upon His people. He is slow to anger and abounding in love. If we rend our hearts not our garments whilst there is time, we will be spared of calamity. Joel 2:13. If we touch God’s heart, He will have mercy and Grace upon us and in His sovereignty turn us around and leave us a blessing. Let’s not be a roller coaster Christian or keep remaining where we are. Despite the global crisis, we do not sit back to relax but move with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to touch lives and bring them to Jesus so that their soul will not perish.
This crisis has led many people to reflect and think through their life which is like a vapor which can vanish anytime. But we as believers should know that our life is not in our hands but in God’s hands. Our life mission is to honor God with our worship and our testimony and to transform both our own life and the life of our family and others. It’s time to reflect where we are in God’s measuring tape.
God always work wonders for His people. If we follow God’s command and observe His statutes and the principles of sowing and reaping precept upon precept, we will not be affected by circumstances around us. To be affected by our circumstances is a deception of the enemy who use this tactic to distract our calling and depriving us of our reward. Hence King Solomon says in Proverbs 3:5 not to lean on our natural understanding of our circumstances but seek God for the purpose behind it.
He keeps assuring us to rejoice and be glad and not be afraid. V21. We are entering into a season of bearing fruit and yielding their riches. The measure of your faith will inherit these things. V23-24. Calamity of the Nations have always been God’s opportunity to prepare and reward His people if they faithfully tend to their Vine and avoid covetousness. God’s people can never be ashamed. You will have plenty to satisfy you to the fullest so long as you cling tightly to the Lord, V26 and you have been working your life plan with Him and discern the times, like the tribes of Issachar.
We ought to know who God is. After every calamity comes wealth and rejoicing. In Esther’s days and even in times of oppression the Israelites suffered greatly in Egypt, when it’s God’s time to act, what a rejoicing for His people. God has His way of bringing people down to their knees to humble them and then raise them up again.
Coronavirus is one testing so severe yet appears harmless, specifically oriented to humble the Nations and judgement on Nations have been recorded in both biblical history and historic Chronicles with a purpose to slow down evil acts and premeditated evil thoughts of man.
As God’s people, let’s make a difference. This is the time of waiting upon God for His Revelation of His power, purpose and destiny for our lives. We must make full use of the time and plan with God His plans and purpose for which this virus was allowed.
God will have His last word. His Word is I will restore and make everything new. Jeremiah 30:17, Jeremiah 21:5-7.
Let the enemy be more anxious than you. God will outwit Him. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8. God has planned something better for us so that only together with us would we be made perfect. Hebrews 11:40. God be praised.
