29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Today’s Inspiration: When Christ dwell in us, our thoughts, attitudes, actions, word and relationships are not our own. If He feels inside of us, our life is not our own. When we commit our whole life to Him, our relationship with Him will grow and we will begin to be like Him. This is exactly what God wants us to do – to be conformed to His image. Romans 8:29 and transformed to His image. 2 Corinthians 3:18. This is the core of Christianity. One day when Jesus returns, we shall be like Him. 1 John 3:2. Everyone who has this hope purifies himself just as he is pure. V3.
Our will becomes his will, our heart is with Him, our mind think His thoughts, our mouth speaks His words, our hands performs His actions and our feet go where He directs. Galatians 2:20.
A disciple does three things. He learns to do things Jesus wants him to do. Secondly we do things according to His ways. We don’t go where we want to go but only minister to places where He directs us. We leave the crowd to minister to the lost sheep. We do things in the power and character of Christ. Thirdly you minister according to His word and Spirit. By doing what He requires of us, we will reflect His character in all our actions and relationships and we will fulfill His mission by extending His kingdom and ministry through our lives.
Let us perform the work of God in the direction of His will and reflect His character and ministry as we go along. Christ’s character is the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23. When we exhibit these virtues, we reflect Christ’s character and the world will then see Jesus through us. God be praised!
