2 Kings 6:17

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Today’s Inspiration: Our life needs to be sustained by vision. What you see is what you become. Even though Elisha was captured by King of Aram, Elisha remained steadfast and in solitude sought God whilst his servant was terrified.

Elisha saw chariots of fire and horses surrounding them and asked God to open the eyes of his servant. 2 Kings 6:15-17. Immediately on seeing what Elisha saw, fear left him. If you have fear, you cannot take great exploits. Only faith makes you victorious. Only love can cast out fear to give you faith and confidence. Vision is the purpose that sustains us.

One thing we need to know is that God never changed and we are always changing. Our life as a Christian is a continued transition from one place to another, one level to another, one understanding to another. The purpose of spiritual light is to bring us into change and growth. The more light we have, the more changes for the better and, the more our life is improved, the more we are brought into His glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

God did not call us to be settlers but pilgrims and pioneers. The more enlightenment, the more wisdom and revelation we have that open our understanding . The more understanding, the more hope of His glory. Ephesians 1:17-19.

Our life must be founded by the word of God, prayer and Jesus the Rock of our salvation. Pray that your heart will be enlightened and your spiritual vision enhanced. Ask that a shaft of revelatory light enters your spirit so that you know the hope and expectation of Good things to come. Ask Him for the vision that will sustain you.
