1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
Today’s Inspiration: As we enter 2019 a year of empowerment by His word and the birth of a Prayer movement, we need to not only read and meditate on His Word but we must also pursue God for His revelation. Only then can we be delivered from persecution, slandering and accuser of the brethren Satan. Without abiding in the Word we live a life of defeat. John had the revelation that the Word is Jesus Himself and He is God the ancient of days whom I saw in an open vision that led me to my salvation when He identified Himself as the I AM – someone I could not fathom till I dig deep into His word. John 1:1-2.
Hebrews 4:12 says the Word is active, sharper than a double-edged sword that pierces and penetrates deep into our hearts causing us to die to our old self that we might live unto righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24, Galatians 2:20. It pierced deep to divide our soul from the spirit that we will not allow our reaction of the past to deceive us. The reason why we tend to react is that the fear of God is not in us hence His word could not penetrate deep enough to give us wisdom to handle issues in our life. Jeremiah says in Jeremiah 17:9 that our heart is deceitful above all things. Only His word can defeat deception in our heart through the conviction of the Holy spirit causing transformation.
The goal of Christian life is transformation. Without conviction of the Word how can we be transformed to glory? 2 Corinthians 3:18. It is for this purpose that the Holy spirit was sent.
His Word also penetrate deep to divide joints and marrow. When the doctor is clueless about the causes of our blood condition, it has to pierce into our bone marrow to check the condition of the blood. Likewise His word must pierce to joint and marrow to check the spiritual condition of our heart. Only the Law of the Lord which is His word is perfect enough to revive the soul. Psalm 19:7.
Joshua was asked to meditate on His word all day long because by it he can be strengthened and be victorious in his exploits. Joshua 1:8. His word preserved our life. We will not perish in our affliction. Psalm 119.22-23.
There is richness in the truth of God’s word. It gives us directions and helps us to walk in His ways. His word is a lamp to guide our path that we will not stumble. Psalm 119:105. May we love His word and guide them in our path and may God open our eyes that we might see His deep and hidden treasures and know Him more.
His Word helps us to run in the path of His commands and set us free. Psalm 119:32. Only the truth of His word can set us free. John 8:32. It was for freedom that Christ has set us free. Let us not be subject to the yoke of slavery again. Galatians 5:1. Do not forsake His word.
