1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”;
Today’s Inspiration: None of us like to see our children in pain and suffering and tend to give in to their demands. I have seen many mothers suffer as a result when their children reach their teens or entering young adults. When God sent His Son Jesus to the world there was every intention of success but it came with the full knowledge of the path of pain and suffering that Jesus would walk in order to fulfil His purpose. We too should follow the same example to allow pruning before fruitfulness. Without pruning we can’t bear fruit.
Many a time we do not want to face reality and resist pain because we think of the now rather than of life’s ultimate purpose to us and to our existence.
In fact in our affliction, we should ask the Lord to keep us safe as only in Him we take refuge. He is our Lord. Apart from Him, we have no good thing. Psalm 16:1-2. Our body will rest secure. Verse 9. God will not abandon us to see our decay. God will make us know the path of life and filled us with joy and presence, with eternal pleasures. Verses 10-11.
Job seemed righteous but God was showing his righteousness means nothing. What He needed to understand is to know a sovereign God who does not abandon us nor gives us afflictions but for His glory as Jesus explained to his disciples in John 9:1. It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. Lamentations 3:27.
Jesus experienced pain so that we find our ultimate comfort and well being in God and in doing His will. Jesus took our pain so that we have the privilege to become children of God and to finally settle the score with God for violating His law.
God’s ways are beyond our comprehension. Our steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand His ways? Proverbs 20.24. We cannot even understand our hearts yet God searches out even to our innermost being to reveal to us. Mordecai only knows about fasting and praying but cannot understand how God can intervene since the edit against the Jews has already been passed. God only sees his sincerity and faith as well as earnestness and passion of Esther to serve the Jews that turned around history. Esther 9:1.Truly He is beyond our understanding. For Job he could not understand His intense affliction but through pain he saw the Lord and His thinking was transformed resulting in double fold restoration of family and wealth. Job 42:5. Triumph comes after the pain.
