1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Today’s Inspiration: Galatians 5:1 ‘It was for freedom that Christ has set us free and we are not to be subject to yoke of slavery again’. The term ‘freedom’ means freedom from control, interference, obligation, restriction or external or foreign rule. Freedom also means immunity, exemption and the power to enjoy all privileges or special rights of heavenly citizenship of the kingdom. Jesus lives and died and rose again to bring us liberty from bondages of death, hell and the grave or the restriction and rule of Satan. This comes through His shed blood which is still fresh today.
Jesus’ words in John 10:10 is the profound key to understanding the spiritual war in which we are in as Christians. The life Jesus want us to have is to have vitality, devotion with God, to enjoy life worthy of His name, to be strong, efficient, active, and powerful endlessly in the Kingdom of God.
Life with Jesus means we have excessive abundance, overflowing, more than sufficient, more remarkable and more excellent life after all He is the way, where we should walk and acknowledge His ways in Proverbs 3:6, the truth that set us free in John 8:32 and the abundant Life to be endless in His kingdom. John 10:10.
The indwelling spirit is the spirit of Jesus given to us automatically at the time of salvation to give us new hope, new love, new peace, new joy and new direction. The goal of the indwelling spirit works inside of us to transform us to be Christlike. Empowering of the Holy Spirit is what we need to pursue and it is not automatically given to us. It depends on our choice to wait for it like the 120 disciples in the upper room. This empowerment enables us to wage warfare against the enemy to evict demons from our home and our lives.
One of the empowerment comes through meditation of the word which we elaborated yesterday. Next is our prayer life. Until we pray, channels of communication cannot be opened. He commands us to pray in Colossians 4:2. To neglect prayer is to neglect God. When we fail to pray we have broken the greatest commandment to love God with all our heart, soul and mind. Matthew 22:37-38.
The corona virus onslaught is a wake-up call to work out our spiritual life as life is not in our hands and to a call to pray for God’s intervention to evict the corona virus from the Nations and to humble the Nations to turn back to God. To reach our full potential for God, we need to learn how to apply the spiritual gifts to wage warfare against the enemy’s plans of stopping the great harvest that God has for us in 2020. Until we have the spiritual harvest the Holy Spirit will not manifest it’s material harvest.
May God’s peace comes to you this morning to seek God for His next strategy to topple the ‘Goliath’ from the Nations and His will for the next move of the Spirit. You just need to pray even a short prayer in 2 Chronicles 20:9-12, and declare v15, 17 & 20 for God to answer. God be praised.
