10 Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold;
11 For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.
Today’s Inspiration: God’s word today in Proverbs 8:10 requires us to choose instruction from His word instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold for wisdom is more precious than rubies. Wisdom of God brings us to places we would not have otherwise reach. So seek wisdom through the meditative study of His word. God only tell Joshua to meditate on His word not merely reading or study. Joshua 1:8. David speaks a lot of meditation in Psalm 119.
God’s instruction is that we bear fruit of the Holy Spirit and we need to strive to achieve them with an excellent spirit. Self-control is the best fruit we can ever attain. Galatians 5:23. His fruit is better than fine gold. What you yield surpasses choice of silver. Without wisdom we cannot attract the multitudes or even a flock who chose fresher pastures which are more nourishing and unquenchable living water that only the Holy Spirit can give. Verse 19.
Many Christians remain in bondage of fear and anxiety simply because they do not avail themselves to the discipline of meditative study of His word that so convicts their heart for transformation. Change is the goal of Christianity. God looks at our behaviour, attitudes and motives. Are we living a life of surrender so that the Holy spirit can move freely within our spirit and soul that empowers us to soar? Isaiah 40:31.
Let us discipline ourselves with diligence the discipline of meditative Bible study to identify the pitfalls, to practise it with joy and to experience the liberation it brings. God be praised! This is why God advocates meditative study which is reading aloud scripture and listening to the word and obeying by applying to our life. Until we study with revelational knowledge, we will not be able to be transformed and teach to bring about a change in people’s lives.
