29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Today’s Inspiration: As I ponder over the low immune system of people today that trigger onslaught of pestilence and diseases, I realise that men have neglected the health of their soul. This is why the Bible keeps stressing on the salvation of soul. Men had been focusing too much on the external success causing so much emotional stress on the inward soul. We try very much to maintain the health of the body but actually what is needed is to feed God’s word to the spirit that brings health to the soul. When the image of God’s word takes effect, hopefulness, health and healing takes place. Therefore it is important to seek the Lord for our soul transformation more than our activity. Deuteronomy 4:29 we have to change our thoughts from seeking Him for answers to our activity to seeking Him for His conviction how to move forward.
When disaster comes – judgement or pestilence or famine, we should stand in His presence in the Holy temple and cry out to Him in affliction and He will hear and save. 2 Chronicles 20:9. Humbling in His presence at a time like this is important. With His presence comes power. Look at the way Jehoshaphat pray that cause the spirit of the Lord to answer Jehoshaphat prayer in v6-13. Corporate repentance is a necessity at a time when you are on the cross road with enemies on every side. Look at verse 13.
We are like a building which cannot be maintained only from the outside but also from the inside. May we find grace to have inner spiritual courage to change from inside out through conviction of His word for transformation. This is what Jesus stressed in his teaching of a parable that defilement comes from within. Matthew 15:16-20.
Do not look at things which are seen for the things which you see are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal. It’s the inward heart that one cannot see except God, that is important. The affliction we suffer are light and momentary but a necessity because it will lead to a more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:18. This is what should be our attitude as we labor and serve Him. It’s more costly to maintain a lie than truth.
So be steadfast, immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labour for Him in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58. If we labour by ourselves it is striving but if we labour in the Lord we always have accumulated joy in our hearts and this strengthens our immune system against every virus, germ or bacteria that tries to invade our body. Likewise don’t let emotional poison invade your soul. It changes the DNA what God wants you to have and destroy your soul which disintegrate with your body. Abiding in intimacy with God in which you allow Him free access to clean you up integrates your body with your soul and brings healing and health. John 15:7, 3 John 2. God be praised.
