Luke 17:20-21

20  Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;

21 nor will they say,  ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Today’s Inspiration: Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is not by observation. The kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21. The kingdom of God demands faith from you to declare a thing and it be established for you. Job 22:28.

Apostle Paul explained that as children of faith, we are to declare and affirm in agreement with God continuously that whatever seems dead and impossible to resurrect, or deliver, just call them forth into being that which you cannot see. Romans 4:17. Only your faith can cause God to do the impossible. Luke 17:6. So lay aside your natural thoughts as they are fleshy filthiness and wickedness and deemed enemies of God. James 1:21.

Flesh is always in enmity with the spirit. Hence those who walk in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:8.

Testing is to ascertain if we are still carnally minded. It’s a refining of our mind. Our mind is where Satan can touch and cause us to disobey God’s commandment. Mind is where the indwelling sin is deposited. Indwelling sin is the reaction towards our fellow men sent to test our carnality and faithfulness to God. Only an overcomer can please God. We are supposed to be an overcomer because of the Blood of Jesus and word of testimony after the testing. Rev 12:10. We must emerge a refined vessel of honor- precious gold in the sight of God and men.

Our spiritual war is therefore against the thoughts of old nature that caused indwelling sin to dwell which is our old nature of wickedness and filthiness which James asked us to lay down. The old nature is the childish reactions of our past. Apostle Paul tells us that we should not react childishly like angry reactions since we are now adults. 1 Corinthians 13:11. We need to discard them from our thoughts now that we are in Christ Jesus and takes on Newly created life since we are a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5.17.

Since you are a child of God, you are no longer debtors to the flesh (Romans 8:12) and is free from bondage of fear (Romans 8:15) for the spirit lives in us and the life we live is now a life of faith in the Son of God. So walk as people of faith. Only righteousness that is obedience to His commandment comes through faith. Romans 6:16.

The prophet of ancient times was faithful in obeying God’s commandment until he was allowed to be tested of his obedience to God’s commandment by a senior prophet. Without using the gift of spiritual discernment, he failed to abide in the commandment and the Lord delivered him to a lion which tore and kill him. 1 Kings 14:26. God will deliver us to our tormentors when we have no faith to walk with Him through lack of self control.

We need to remember that the law is holy and the commandment is holy, just and good. Holiness cannot tolerate indwelling sin. Romans 7:12. The commandment brings life therefore do not be enticed to sin again which brings death. We are always enticed to disobedience. This deception kills us and brings us to death. V11. So it is important to focus our goal first to war against the indwelling sin of our reactions and crucify them so that we could bear fruit to Holiness and in the end reap everlasting life. Romans 6:22. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. V23. Flesh is always enmity against God.

Therefore let us serve in the newness of the spirit and not in oldness of the letter. Romans 7:6. The old must pass away before we can become new. For the old nature to sin will die. We need to work on our will power to have self control not to turn back like Lot’s wife who becomes a pillar of salt because of disobedience to the command not to look back at past glory. Even if we keep the whole law and stumble in one point, we are guilty of all. James 2:10.

Therefore always have the fruit of the spirit as we are not ignorant of satanic devices against us. 2 Corinthians 2:11. Let us have sound judgement and don’t allow Satan to take advantage of our weakness.

Let’s be steadfast in our heart to strengthen our will power to have self-control. God be praised.
