Luke 10:41-42

41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Today’s Inspiration: Jesus rebuked Martha for worrying and being upset about many things. One thing is needed is the abiding relationship with God that takes away our fears and anxieties. Luke 10:41-42. We tend to focus on the natural more than the spiritual. God’s purpose is not that you will do more for Him but that you will choose to be more with Him. Only by abiding can you enjoy the most rewarding friendship and experience the greatest abundance for His glory. To abide means to stay closely connected, to settle in for the long term. The more abiding, the more we witness supernatural miracles in our life.

John 15 Jesus spoke about abiding ten times. He knew as human we are easy to go astray. He was actually preparing his disciples whom he knew that in His departure from this earth would be downcast and have fears. So He expound about the condition to bear more fruit. John 15:5-6. Jesus idea is to prepare them to reproduce and to produce incredible miraculous amount of fruit that will transform and stun the world. This experience we saw in Acts 2. This impact will not be possible without spending more time with Him. Abiding does not mean doing more. It is in fact doing less and allowing Him to direct our lives to bear fruit. If w are not abiding, we are of no spiritual use and therefore wither and die gradually.

We need to draw spiritual nourishment from Him daily and stay connected with Him so that His power flows down through us to touch lives and nothing will stop us from achieving abundant life.

Intimacy with God must be your first priority. As you spend time with Him, your body will be full of light which expels darkness. Light your lamp daily and eternally. Luke 11:36. You will be in health. Jesus warned that the light within us should not be in darkness. We can have the Holy spirit in us but if we ignored the abiding with Him, we are unable to have strength to fight against spiritual forces. The closer you are connected with the Holy spirit the healthier you will be. We must keep our lamp burning like the parable of the five wise virgins.
