9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Today’s Inspiration: Meditation introduces us to inner life, study reaffirms our mind but it is the discipline of prayer that brings us into the deepest and highest work of the human spirit. Real prayer is life creating and life changing. William Carey quotes prayer as secret, fervent, believing. This is why the disciples, seeing Jesus’ lifestyle of prayer desires to learn prayer from Him. He would have taught them the essence of prayer and they want a change in their life and be able to perform like him. Matthew 6:9-14.
Deep in their mind they must be wondering why Jesus get into the secret place of prayer and how He performs signs wonders daily. They must be amazed at the wisdom He acquired.
Prayer is the central avenue God transforms us. The closer we come to the heartbeat of God the more we see our need and the more we want to conform to Christ. When we avoid prayer, we are avoiding our Eternal Lover Christ Himself. When we make our Eternal Lover our ATM we see delay in answered prayers and we might even never receive what we ask because we did not ask according to His will. James 4:3.
Prayer is not asking for our needs for He knows our needs and will provide. Matthew 6:8, Psam 23.1. Real prayer is to think God’s thoughts after Him, to desire the things He desires, to love the things He loves and to will the things He wills. Progressively we are taught to see things from His perspective.
Prayer strengthens our faith, our trust, our belief and total reliance on God for His plans for us which comes with a promise and power. He will not give you a task without a tool for success. Joshua’s tool was to meditate, be strong and courageous and a promise that He will be with him. Joshua 1:3, 6-9. We need to know that no task is impossible because we serve a God of impossible. Luke 1:37. Joshua ultimately shapes history with those tools. Be inspired towards success in your petition today.
