1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Today’s Inspiration: In the Lord’s prayer, we are taught to pray against evil. Churches from ancient days have taught us to wage spiritual warfare against the world, the flesh and the devil. We must never forget that the enemy of our soul prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour, 1 Peter 5:8. In our prayer we must fight against the principalities and powers of darkness.
We need to pray the right prayer in order that we can reverse the enemy’s strategies and gain victory through Christ Jesus our Lord. We need to pray prayers of protection, surrounding ourselves with the life of Christ, covering ourselves with the Blood of Christ and sealing ourselves with the cross of Christ. We need to pray daily and not just praying when we feel like it or when we are desperately wanting God to intervene.
Prayer is never a waste of time. We need to work and pray simultaneously. We need to desire a life of greater, deeper and true prayer. We must always be on our guard as man’s heart is deceitful above all things. Jeremiah 17:9. Our heart which depends on our thoughts is the seat of our emotions. John 7:21-23.
Prayer must be accompanied with faith. Jesus always put faith and belief as a criteria for healing. Matthew 9:29 According to your faith it will be done to you.
If you have fear this morning, dispel fear from your heart. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead fear the One who can destroy both the soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:29. Only God can heal your soul which is your mind, will and emotions. When your soul is healed your body is healed. 3 John 2. He heals and saves and performs signs and wonders. Trust Him.
Daniel was a man of prayer who prays three times a day and prospered during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar,, Cyrus and Darius. Let the sovereign Lord be your strength today. When your inner being is healed, you will have strength and power. Ephesians 3:16. Disease is an issue that has to do with the circumcision of the heart which had been emphasized throughout the Bible. Hebrews 4:12 our thoughts, and intentions of our heart are judged by the word of God which pierces deep dividing soul and spirit which is the inner man and the bone marrow the outer man. Hence the word must pierce deep into our hearts to transform us so that our doors remain shut to any invasion of sickness and diseases. Fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 is the power of God to heal in Christ Jesus.
