11 “Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb; honey and milk are under your tongue;and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
Today’s Inspiration: As the end draws near, we need to prepare ourselves as Bride of Christ. First qualification is our lips must speak edifying words that drip as honeycomb to the hearer and our tongue is filled with honey and milk. This is what king Solomon admired in his bride. Externally the garments are full of fragrance like the fragrance of Lebanon. Songs 4:11. It’s only when our lips speak edifying words that are sweeter than honey and pleasant to our hearers, that our garments (body) be in good health. A soul can be in health if our tongue does not carry bitter words like criticism, condemnation or Judgementalism and control or manipulation, then we know our soul is healthy. If our soul is in health, our body will be in health and everything we do have success. 3 John 2.
To doubt is unbelief and should be erased from our mind which is in our heart. Fear and anger are also poisonous triggered by unbelief. Those who believe will have signs and wonders following them and will speak languages that are different from the world. Mark 16:17. Hence now that you are children of God, you walk in unity in the spirit in the bond of peace. We have one mind and we esteem others better than ourselves and look out for the interests of others besides ourselves. Philippines 2:3.
We ought to speak words of edification that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29.We should not grieve the Holy spirit with corrupt words. V30. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour and evil speaking be put away v31. Instead, be kind, compassionate to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another even as God in Christ forgave you. V32. Walk in love so that you do not defile your spirit. Coarse jesting, foolish talking and inappropriate words will not inherit the kingdom of God and hence do not qualify you to be a Bride of Christ. Ephesians 5:4.
As the new creation, you should speak and live like Christ and discard the old garments. (Old way of living before accepting Christ). You can do so only with a closer walk with Him where your mind will be renewed. Roman’s 12:2. Jesus prayed that we be sanctified by the truth. John 17:17. Only His word can conquer the enemy who consistently provoked us to anger and bitterness.
Hence edifying tongue and conduct are the first two prerequisites of being the Bride of Christ apart from being born again. Life and death lies in the power of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21. Whatever you speak, will affect your natural and spiritual health. What you are is revealed in your speech. As children of God let us speak words of edification, exhortation and comfort that all maybe well with us. Let our speech be full of fragrance as sweet aroma unto the Lord. What you sow is what you reap. Galatians 6:7.
