15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.
Today’s Inspiration: Life is about choices. What does God want of us? We are what we are today is because of our thoughts – godly thoughts or thoughts of evil. Uncontrollable thoughts is one of the dangerous weapons the devil used against us all the time. When you are emotionally weak, that is where he stepped in. Apostle Paul faced the same situation as he quoted Romans 7:15. What he is doing he does not understand. There is always a will to yield but if we are not subject to the control of Christ, you tend to yield to what you don’t will to do.
To resolve this, we have to ask the Holy Spirit to help put good thoughts into us so that we have life and peace. Romans 8:5-6. Our mindset needs to change. We have to refocus on Jesus Christ who has given us liberty in the spirit and let us allow access by the Holy Spirit 24/7. Only God can change our mental habits. Those in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 7:8.
Now that you are in Christ, allow Him access to your thoughts. You have the power to say ‘No’ to your old carnal nature and walk in the spirit. Galatians 5:16. When you allow God’s power to take over, His power will overpower your own will power. To be in the natural is not good as it is self-destructive. You are now in the spirit and not in the flesh, therefore let your thoughts be controlled by the spirit. Romans 8:9. The more time you spend with the Lord, the more you Communion with Him, the more self control you will be.
Now that you are in Christ, the whole of Trinity is inside of you. Therefore you are empowered to do what God desires of you. Therefore don’t allow your old carnal nature to override what God desires of you. You are empowered to say ‘No’ to failure, to sickness, to shame, to bitterness, to anger, to guilt, to sin etc. Don’t focus on here and now. Focus on eternal values.
Change the way you think and the way you act. Have the mind of Christ. God be praised!
