Deuteronomy 12:9-10

“… for as you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which the Lord your God is giving you. 10 But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety…”

Today’s Inspiration: God is today reminding you to enter into His rest and inheritance that He has promised you so that you could dwell in safety. Deuteronomy 12:9-10.

Do not focus on past glories but move onto the glory God is wanting to give you which is far better than your past glory. He chose to give whoever He desires to give. Haggai 2:8-9. The Israelites keep wanting to go back to the luxurious foods in Egypt as the wilderness experience that they are facing after the passover is difficult to overcome even though they have received abundant riches from the Egyptians after the passover. Until you are pruned, tested and refined, you cannot enter into His rest and inheritance. Crossover from Egypt to Canaan is crossover from slavery to abundance and safety. We must follow the leading of the Lord. God can astound you with blessings even if you seem everything around you is fruitless. Haggai 2:19.

When you keep focusing on the past, you tend to dwell in self-pity, a realm of darkness. Banish anxiety. When you slip into overthinking of your past mistakes and everything that had gone wrong for you, you will never enter into His rest and inheritance. Leave your past and complacency as well as comfort zone behind and press on towards the goal that God is calling you. Philippians 3.13. He who starts a work in you will see to your completion to the end. Philippians 1:6.

Why do you keep questioning your abilities when things go wrong? When you enter into this self doubt mode, you are allowing self doubt to take over the confidence you used to have, and robbing you of the perfect peace God had bestowed upon you. Let the Lord be your confidence so that your feet will not be ensnared. Proverbs 3:26.

Self-doubt maybe a familiar shadow that you grow up with if in the past you were bullied in school or was the least favourite sibling. It’s your internal world that you have to deal with. We tend to deal with the external world and get into reaction mode when the going gets tough or when an argument especially if your spouse or loved ones provokes you.

A soldier once lost a leg at the war and lying in hospital bed, was very depressed and nothing could get him out of depression. One day a person came to him blowing a harmonica. He finds it soothing. But he still could not get out of depression. When a person is depressed, no words can console him. Day after day, he came. One day he felt led by the Lord to lift up his pants. To his surprise, this man has lost two legs and now have artificial limbs. He was also a soldier like him, depressed after learning he lost two legs. The soldier was surprised and this delivered him from his plight. Until you go through pain, people cannot be ministered by you. One had to go through painful lessons of life before he can be released for effective ministry. Therefore do not be alarmed at the pain you are going through. God will work out everything beautifully in His time. Romans 8:28 knowing the extent of His immeasurable love for mankind. . He may allow seasons of affliction but through it all, you will emerge a vessel of honour mightily used by our Living God. God be praised!
