18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?.
Today’s Inspiration: It is necessary to hear a teaching or a sermon or reading the Bible scriptures with understanding, failing which there will be no conviction and subsequently no transformation. It is important to understand the heart of God with revelation. The disciples of Jesus Christ saw the miracles of Jesus Christ and have been with Him, hearing His teachings, staying and dining with Him yet cannot understand. In Mark 8:18 He rebuked them with a question ‘Do you have eyes but fail to see and ears but fail to hear? And don’t they remember at least? They were expected to see what He was about to do but could not hear or see the future. God always want us to be prepared and see the unknown before things happen. God is full of surprises. We are to prepare for them ahead of time.
What is God speaking to us today? If we want a miracle we have to count our blessings one by one and remember them. We are to expect His intervention anytime without our effort. Many miracles happen without effort. It’s about our faith and our belief. Before signs and wonders can follow, we ought to believe He will do it in His timing even if nothing happens. Besides believing we must speak new tongues meaning praying in the spirit and confessing the promises of God to reality. God will honor His word which once sent to us never return to Him void. Mark 16:17, Isaiah 55:11.
We are to believe His promise, act on His promise through confession. Faith without works is dead. James 2:26. After Jesus rebuked the disciples, He elaborated again His statement”Do you still not understand?” If we cannot understand what He says we have not caught the teaching nor the anointing.
Peter had good intentions wanting to have Jesus with them all the time but was surprised to be rebuked by Him saying “Get behind me satan”. V33. It not only shocked Peter but also the disciples. Jesus rebuked him for always having in mind the things of men and not the things of God. In short we always look at the surface of things with our natural eyes. We need to understand the deep things of God and be prepared for the day of His coming. If the Body of Christ is prepared, they will have the zeal to make all efforts to save their neighbours and the loved ones at all costs and win the world for Christ. We need to have more passion for souls and be God centred rather than self-centred. We need to fulfill the destiny God has for us. Jesus asked an another astounded question “Who do you say I am? ” We need to examine who truly is Jesus and why He asked this question. Have you ever pondered who you are?
Apostle Paul always reminded us to pray for our understanding to be opened. Above all He prayed that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight for better discernment and be filled with fruit of righteousness in Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:9. God be praised for great things ahead!
