7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
What do you ask from Jesus when you come to Him in the morning? The one thing Paul asked was for the Ephesian church to be deepened in the knowledge of Him (Eph 1:7). Knowledge of His word is necessary to grow in discipleship and holiness, in character and service. You not only have to read the word but you must experience Him personally.
We can only know Him better by spending more time with Him in reading His word and in prayer and by reflecting on and experience Him more deeply. We are called to a new life to participate in His divine nature. 2 Pet 1:4.
When He called us, He called us to a glorious ocean of divine blessings. Knowing this truth and the fact that God has called us to be His special inheritance, verse 18 will give us wisdom to live faithfully.
Such knowledge comes from God’s revelation which opens the eyes of our heart which is our inner spiritual eyes so that we can through the Spirit, grasp God’s truth as revealed in His word.
Apostle Paul hitherto called Saul was stopped at his tracks and was blinded by Jesus three days. Acts 9:9. Jesus appears before him to stop him persecuting the church and revealed to him that if he persecutes the church, he is persecuting Jesus. So if you are tormenting someone daily which maybe your loved ones, you are actually tormenting yourself and your loved ones and above all Jesus. Acts 9:4-5.
Hence no matter how capable you are, you will never be successful without Jesus. You will never know the deep truths of His word until you start digging underneath the surface. That’s where you are going to find deep riches. That’s where the deep oil of the spirit is. The deeper you dig, the more you will find but you have to dig deeper to find the treasures. You are successful not because of your ability but because you walk with Jesus in your determination and passion to succeed.
God’s revelation is the product of both the spirit’s enlightenment and the careful study and reflection on the word and on God’s truth. They all stand together.
So start digging God’s word today and share with us the revelation you receive. Get honey from the rock. Pas 81:16.
