1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Today’s Inspiration: The way David speak to God is so personalised that God knows beforehand he will touch His heart as He proclaimed to Samuel when He instructs Samuel to anoint him as king. God cannot choose a man to be king of His kingdom without total dedication and love for Him. God always look at our inward heart before He chose us. 1 Samuel 16:7. Every man in the Bible had been heavily tested by Him before they take up positions of authority. David is one of them. Look at the way he had to run from Saul’s pursuit due to Saul’s intense jealousy! But he remained faithful to God never complaining but always cry out for deliverance. He knows God always is his fortress and salvation.

Jesus, His word is so powerful. His salvation is primary to David and this is attained through His word. His mercies which are new every morning should be important to us. Without His Word there will be no faith and consequently there will be no Salvation. He also told God not to take the word of truth from his mouth. In short let his tongue not sin against God. He trusts in His word for there is hope in His ordinances. Psalm 119:41-43.

Walking according to His word gives us freedom as David proclaimed in verse 44 and this is why he will keep His law continually and eternally and will always seek His precepts. Verse 45. David will always testify of his goodness before kings. Verse 46.

David is full of love and submission to the Lord. It is like daily he offers his body as living sacrifices. Romans 12:1 We need to be at the altar daily to be scanned by the Lord to see if we are in spiritual health or not. We can never have divine health without spiritual health!

These are the fundamental truths of the way of life Jesus wants us to adopt in our prayer. Let this prayer be our lifestyle and let our thoughts be full of God’s word that we will not easily react to the lies of the enemy that caused us to stumble always. Do not be ignorant of satanic devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11. Let faith arise in our heart always and let us daily come to God, requesting Him to examine our mind and search our hearts each morning before we start the day. Have a blessed week! Be holy for He is holy. God be praised always!
