Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Today’s Inspiration: Without the virtue of the Great Commandment, the Great Commission cannot take effect. Matthew 22:37-40, Matthew 28:18-20.

Indeed she found favour when Boaz gave permission and in verse 9 told her to focus only on the fields and follow the reapers and Boaz instructed that they should treat her with kindness. She was even given permission to drink what the young men have drawn. Praise the Lord for such generosity and kindness! This is a sign of growing in godliness.

We can only know God through Love for God is Love. He who does not love, does not know God, for God is Love. 1 John 4:8. God loved us and sent His only Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Verse 10. As God loved us then we must love one another. Verse 11. God is love and he who abides in love abides in God. We cannot say we love God when we don’t love one another especially our loved ones whom we can see. He who loves God must love one another. Verse 20. There is no fear in love for God’s perfect Love casts out fear. Verse 18.

If we say we love God, then we must not ignore our daily journey to the inner chamber of our heart where the Holy spirit dwells. God wants our attention. He wants to fellowship with us daily. He wants to have daily communion with us like He did for Adam and Eve before the fall. If we ignore Him, our soul become empty and our mind will conform to the world which constantly attacks us negatively. How often have we been paralysed by fears and God comes to rescue us and assured us that He is the Light of our salvation and therefore we should not fear. Psalm 27:1. Only when His perfect Love is with us, can we discard fears. Isaiah 41:10 also reminds us not to fear.

Negative emotions is not from God but from the pit of hell to destroy our relationships. We should not be caught off guard. We should not be ignorant of satanic devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11. The devil has many times been caught off guard too and before he knows it, God has already done a miracle.

Whatever battles comes against us, we should not give up. The battle is not ours but the battle belongs to God. We just need to plead to God for mercy and stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which does not constitute eternal life alone but includes health, security, safety and soundness. Fear is one factor we should remove from our hearts. It cripples us and brings what we fear to reality. Job 3:25.

<p style=”text-align: justify;”><span style=”font-size: 13pt;”>Instead we should have faith that victory belongs to the Lord. We will not fear. Isaiah 41:10. The Lord will not pass me by but sees me through. I will succeed and not fail. Nehemiah 2:20 God of heaven will give me success. I will conquer through Love. If God is for me no one can come against me. Romans 8:31.</span></p>

<p style=”text-align: justify;”><span style=”font-size: 13pt;”>So love one another. If you don’t, whatever you perform even par excellence is of no use. Apostle Paul pays much emphasis on Love as our greatest weapon that pleases God. 1 Corinthians 13:1. So love one another.</span></p>
