Psalm 28:8

The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.

Today’s Inspiration: The Lord is your strength and shield, a fortress of salvation. Psalm 28:8. He will teach you His ways and lead you to a straight path even in the midst of oppression. He is your Lord. Apart from Him, you can do nothing. Psalm 16:2.

Just as we have to work out our healing and sanctification after salvation, which is a process of maturation, transformation is a process. For a papua to be converted to a butterfly, we cannot rush into things but with tender nurturing we will reach there.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 is clear. First and foremost we must acknowledge the fact that He is our Lord. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Since He inhabits in us, we are free. However, we must have understanding that maintenance of healing, sanctification and maturing are processes of salvation that takes time. Our spiritual eyes of understanding need to be opened before transformation can take place, which is also a process.

To do this, takes time. We need to mirror ourselves and our life with the word. We cannot just be hearers of the word but doers. A doer always reflects himself in the mirror which is the word of God to reflect if there are any moral filth or wickedness God has to deal with before we can reach from glory to glory. James 1.21, 23-24, 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Jesus demonstrated this truth in His healing of the blind man in Bethaisda. His healing was not instantaneous. The reason is that Jesus was not accepted at Bethaisda despite performing miracles and so He pronounced mild judgement to those who don’t accept Him. This blind man He is healing is from that town, Bethaisda, a place of unbelief. Mark 8:22-25. The spitting on the man’s eyes was to break the unbelief. V23. His eyes were only partially opened. Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes and power came from His hand and his sight was totally restored. V25.

This is the principle of laying hands on the sick and they will recover in His great commission. Mark 16:18.Jesus told him not to mention about his healing when he returned to the village because of unbelief in his village.

What was Jesus teaching the disciples here? Spiritual understanding takes time to open. He illustrated this truth in the disciples’ discussion that they have forgotten to bring bread with them except for one loaf. They have forgotten Jesus’ miracle of multiplication of the loaves of bread and fishes to feed 5000 families. He asked them why they have eyes but do not see and ears but do not hear. It’s the same with us. We always forget His miracles in the past to us. Mark 8:17-21.

The spiritual significance he was demonstrating was that His disciples’ understanding will only be opened after He comes back in Resurrection. Spiritual understanding takes time so is maturation process of spiritual truth. Hence unbelief had to be dealt with before understanding can be opened.

The spiritual truth is that disciples could not understand truth when Jesus was with them. Their understanding of truth was clearer after Jesus’ Resurrection. Hence maturation takes two processes in our life – primary and secondary. Likewise we need to understand old testament before our understanding can be opened to new testament Jesus’ teaching of spiritual truth.

Jesus always focused on the measure of our unbelief before He could perform His miracles. Until our spiritual understanding is opened, miracles is a distant truth. Our focus must be upon Jesus before God can give us Spiritual understanding.

Therefore if you want a miracle you must focus your eyes on Jesus who is the author of your salvation and healing. You must have the mind of Christ to receive a miracle. Don’t focus your eyes on circumstances, which is the work of Satan working in your thoughts. Lay down your human understanding. Hebrews 12:2, Mark 8:33. God be praised.
