Matthew 5: 16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Today’s Inspiration: Life is full of uncertainties. It is no wonder that Jesus rebuked the rich man for keeping on building new barns instead of building His Kingdom. Jesus challenged us to let our light so shine before men that they may see our Good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16.
The Gospel challenged us to meet people where they are hurting, is a vital aspect of our call to reflect God to the society in which we live and the single word that describes the gospel message is forgiveness. Understanding what it meant to offer forgiveness and receive forgiveness is the vital part of learning mercy. One woman shared of how a church cast her out after knowing her previous adulterous affair. That church has missed the Love of God. Society cannot forgive our past and kept condemning our past. The Bible is also clear. When Job lost everything including his health, his friends and relatives left him.
Another mother pushed her daughter out of the house because her behaviour was not according to the ways she was being brought up. The mother condemned the daughter and pushed her out thinking that the daughter knows she loved her and would be there for her. She is now beyond the reach of her mother. Is this what the Gospel is about? Who does not have her past? The Gospel is an invitation to a relationship with God and then with others. It’s about His unconditional love as in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We do not rejoice at others’ sufferings neither hold offences of others but to bless them and to love them. Loving the unlovable was my mandate as I was growing in the Lord.
Receiving and giving unconditional love from our Heavenly Father breaks all blockages to freedom. Many Christians are unable to receive unconditional love and therefore are not free. We need to know the whole truth of the Gospel to be free. John 8:32. It was for freedom that Christ has set us free. Galatians 5:1. We have to let go of our past and move on with life.
True repentance means changing your ways to God’s ways. His ways are higher than ours and His plans are higher than ours. Isaiah 55:8-9. So wherever He sends you, you shall go. Whatever He directs you, it is best to obey. Obedience will exalt you to the highest place that brings honour to God’s name.
God honours faith. Many cannot part with their resources because of lack of faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. We need God to resolve our issue day by day. Money cannot buy back life nor health sometimes nor cater to your needs. Without Jesus, we are nothing. He is the way to our Heavenly Father a sacrifice you cannot pay. John 15:5.
