2 Chronicles 24:20
20 “…Thus says God: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the Lord, He also has forsaken you.’ ”
Today’s Inspiration: It is essential that we be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:48. Many do not recognise the fact that it is an honour to serve the Lord. People equate serving the Lord as one who served the world. We have forgotten that we are serving the King of kings and the Lord of lords. God’s commandments is to serve the Lord with all our heart, our mind and our strength. Many do not prosper because they transgress the commandments of the Lord by quitting when the going gets tough. If we forsake the works of the Lord, He will forsake us. 2 Chronicles 24:20.
It is important that we do not take grace for granted but serve God with joy or the suddenlies will come and we cannot lift up our head for the Lord will look down from heaven and see how we perform for Him and are accountable for every deed or word we say, our behaviour and attitude and He will repay us accordingly. 2 Corinthians 5:10.
The tongue is a powerful weapon of prayer. By your words you can soar above the struggles and challenges of your everyday life and ride the winds of blessing and praise. By your words, your destiny is established. What you say within yourself or to others will determine the result of your destiny. There is a tendency to react with harmful word to the hearer when you get angry or agitated. If we want victory in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones and others, let the words come out of our mouth be few and bring forth life and blessings. Proverbs 16.24. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
The words that we speak impact our lives and determines our future. It is the tongue that controls our lives. So we must be a good steward of oour tongue. Our words once spoken never return to us void. What you don’t want others to do to you, you should not do what you don’t like others to do to you. David asked the Lord fervently to guard the door of his lips in Psalm 141:3.
Words that we speak everyday determines all that we ever receive from God. Words spoken in anger against someone will be returned to you to accomplish what you have set out to do. Isaiah 55:11. Our words determine what we will ever receive from God. Are we speaking words of healing or sickness, prosperity or poverty, peace or war, rejection or love?
For some of you, there is insecurity of losing your job. When you have God on your side what do you fear? Look at the life of Daniel and Joseph. They are willing to risk for God. Who do you worship- God or man? Murmuring and complaining and slandering especially God’s anointed bring disaster to our life. These come from a hurting soul. Cleansing and sanctification is needed. 2 Corinthians 7:1. Are you still reacting childishly to people’s provocation? 1 Corinthians 13:11. One needs to be cautious as the devil is a prowling lion waiting for who he can devour. John 10:10. He is more crafty and wiser. But he cannot outwit God. Beware of satanic devices 2 Corinthians 2:11.
So seek God daily so that He becomes your rear guard and no one can stop you from progressing. It’s God we should seek. As you seek Him and perform His will, more and more of His spirit is poured onto you and you are able to ignite the fire in your community of influence and at the end of the day you are amazed and filled with awe of what you can do which you hitherto feel you cannot. Promotion comes from God. You needn’t pursue the promotion but you pursue God who has power to enable you to produce wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18. God be praised!
