3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.
Today’s Inspiration: People make mistakes and stumble. People struggle with failure and defeat. People long to do what is right but often fail God. More often than not, people know the truth and still violate it. It is only in the area of defeat that the heart go tender and those moments of hurt and struggle become critical for reshaping and redirecting their lives. God is always in the business of reshaping our lives and destiny. God knows every of our hearts. God is familiar in all your ways. Psalm 139:3-5.
Before a word is in your tongue he knows it completely. So majestic and awesome is He! Look at Balam, he was about to be bribed by Balak to curse Israel but was hampered by the Lord. Numbers 22:12. God indeed knows every little thing in our thoughts..
Balak was angry and Balaam replied that God is not a man that he should lie nor a son of man that he should change his mind. Does he speak and not act? Does he promise and not fulfil? Numbers 23:19. Balaam continued to say that he has received a command from God to bless Israel and not curse. Verse 20. Balak compromised by asking Balam not to curse nor bless Israel. V25. Balaam reiterated that he can only do whatever the Lord wants him to do. Verse 26. Balaam began to bless Israel and declare that those who cursed Israel will be cursed. Numbers 24:9. Balaam as instructed by the Lord instead declared Moab will be crushed and Edom will be conquered and Israel will grow strong. Verses 17-19.
Sometimes you wonder why a non believer had more fear of God than a believer. To Balaam, obeying God is better than sacrifice as declared by prophet Samuel in later years. 1 Samuel 15:22. Balaam would rather put obedience of God priority over the riches offered to him. Sometimes we tend to take grace for granted and do what we want, landing us into the wilderness for testing. We know we have to have reverential fear of God but we still want to stick to our own fleshy desires.
What would you do if you were in Balaam’s position? It is best to fear God than man or we cannot be bond servant of God. Galatians 1:10.
