18 “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of a judgement and whoever says to his brother ‘Raca’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says ‘You fool’ shall be in danger of hell fire“
Today’s Inspiration: Watch your emotions. Anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgement. Call anyone a fool and you will be in danger of the fire of hell. Matthew 5:22. Jesus was teaching his disciples on the necessity of reconciliation prior to approaching Him with a gift. To make peace with all men is such an essential virtue. Peace makers who sow peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:18. The mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6.
Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible but not everything is constructive. This is the believers freedom. Nobody should seek his own good but the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24.
When David was about to kill everyone in Nabal’s household, Abigail, Nabal’s wife made peace with David which David readily granted and accepted her gifts. He ascribed her with peace. 1 Samuel 25:18 & 35. Indeed His love and mercy endures forever.
What a liberty to be able to be released through making peace. It is a joy bubbling inside of you that words cannot describe. What a joy Abigail must have obtained that day from David through his acceptance of the gifts. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord thanks be to God who triumphs us in righteousness and Holiness. It’s a joy that is unspeakable, a joy inherited from the spirit of humility. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
