John 13:16-17

17  Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

Today’s Inspiration: We tend to forget the truth what Jesus said in John 13:16-17 that no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the One who sent him. Obedience to this truth will command a blessing.

How true is this statement? I have counseled many whose job are at stake when they tried proving that they are better than their bosses. We must take heed of what Jesus said. Throughout the Bible, submission and obedience is important. This is another great truth Apostle Paul picked up in Romans 13:1-5. Everyone must submit himself to governing authorities for there is no authority except that God which exist and have been established by God. V2 when we rebel against authority, we are rebelling against what God has instituted and those who do so will bring judgement to themselves. How severe is this scripture that one tends to overlook to satisfy their ego and self gratifying desires thinking they are right?

Our mission is to do good to everyone especially those in the household of faith. More so we should obey God’s command on submission to His authority. Yet when we don’t have our way, we started rebelling and shouting against the authority He placed over us and quit.

If we cannot rebel against governing authorities that are not of household of faith, more so we cannot do so to those leaders in His house for Jesus says that the least you didn’t do for others you didn’t do for Him as He taught His disciples this truth to do good to all men. Matthew 25:45. This results in eternal punishment in v46. Do righteously and you will inherit eternal life. Our faith is useless without action of obeying His commands.

Our life mission therefore is to do good to all as we reap what we sow in Galatians 6:7. Secondly we are to bring people from where they are to where they have never been before. In short our evangelistic message should be to help them to have a better life through Christ Jesus our Lord. God be praised.
