44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
We are created in God’s image and for relationships. Relationships that are based on meeting the needs that are lacking in a childhood is unstable and will be unstable till the Holy spirit reveals the roots of our childhood pain and heal us in Christ Jesus. If our relationship with our family members are warped then our relationship with God is far from ideal. No one can ever meet our relational need except Christ Jesus our Lord and author of our salvation.
The first commandment is to love God and to worship Him and the second commandment is to love one another. Jesus highlights the importance of these commandments. It should therefore be our commitment to carry out these commandments. What are the relational roots? Why our mind is a battlefield n how does it work? Find out more in our next workshop on 27-28 April.
Life is all about relationships.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
People are often relationally ill because they are so individualistic. This is one of the reasons why marriages fail because marriages involve teamwork. It’s more the ‘we and ourselves’ and no longer ‘I, me and myself’. If you are an individualistic person, family relationships will be difficult and relationship with God is far from ideal.
Our relationship with God can never be close if you leave home early or have no growing up years because of the spirit of control of either mom or dad. This causes you to be an individualistic person. Unless we let go of this pain and allow Christ to heal the spiritual and emotional illness we will eternally have broken relationships when the relationship gets closer. We will shy from further relationships. Communication between spouses are misconceived. Relationship matters to reproduce and multiply as required in Gen 1:28; Acts 2.42 and 46.
