22 For what has man for all his labor, and for the striving of his heart with which he has toiled under the sun? 23 For all his days are sorrowful, and his work burdensome; even in the night his heart takes no rest. This also is vanity.
Today’s Inspiration: King Solomon’s word in the Book of Ecclesiastes can be summed up in a statement ‘to find joy in the present and know the meaning of life’ through God. Life is not about riches and honour or toiling in grief and pain without even resting at night. Ecclesiastes 2:22. Life is about ending up in the right place. Life is a test to determine where you will spend in eternity.
Are you finding strife at work or do you find emptiness in your spirit? King Solomon’s advice to us is to know that a man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work only in God. Only those who pleases Him, will He give wisdom, knowledge and happiness. Verse 26.
I have spent many years of my life trying to figure out where my life will lead to and I am sure this is in your mind too. The one thing I know what is important and the meaning of life is to remember that you do not need to be perfect to get your message across but to please Him by remembering His blessings everyday. Be nice and take care of each other. How many years has it took me to figure this out? Empowering others to pursue their dreams through teaching and guiding them to righteousness, and truth is what pleases me. Status is no longer my priority. My priority is to pursue God to find joy and meaning in life. If we aren’t enjoying life then what is the point to be living on earth?
What pleases me now is to see people’s face beaming with joy. I was privileged this Christmas to enjoy the fellowship with my children and grandchildren enjoying the food together and cherishing the memories of my son’s childhood days which my grand daughter is curious about how I nurtured him and whether there were similarities between her and her dad. Enjoying their presence and finding joy in my family had truly made this Christmas so memorable, the best that i ever enjoyed better than any Christmas gift I receive.
Joy is something God gives. You cannot purchase it anywhere else. Live simply and be merry. This was the lesson I learn last year when God tested me for eternity. Live simply and enjoy what you have. I enjoy the company of friends, of fellowshipping with all of you, my students, my disciples every moment of it. I do not find strife in fellowship but joy of the Holy spirit even if it means taking time off from my family and work schedule. Life had to be balanced. Enjoy!
