Amos 8:11-12

11  “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
12  They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, but shall not find it.

Today’s Inspiration: Life is never a smooth journey. If it was, then we will not be dependent on the Lord our God and there is no necessity to pray. It is already fearful to have a famine of bread or water. Worst still is a famine of words where God stopped speaking to us because we are not heeding His instructions no matter how many times He tried drawing us near to His bosom to hear so that He can hide us in the cleft of the Rock to preserve us from evil and to preserve our soul. Amos 8:11.

Only a mature Christian will be able to handle the hard knocks and allow the Lord to exterminate the hard issues of their flesh. Roots of evil strongholds if not dealt with linger on throughout our life causing greater and greater bitterness in our life. It’s better to allow these hard issues to be dealt with by the Lord to facilitate a smooth journey ahead to possess our spiritual inheritance. Those who carry those evil strongholds and allowing them to fester again and again, no longer will inherit the Kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21.

One thing we need to know is that it’s easier to deal with the devil than to deal with ourselves as our pride, anger, bitterness, self ambition, self-centeredness etc stuck to us like a leech. Mental strongholds are the most difficult issues to deal with. To be free from the body of death which is our old self, we must submit to the circumcision of the Holy Spirit. Cutting off our old nature is the most painful process in life that never seen to end. Till we come to terms with ourselves to cut off the old nature, we can never enter Resurrection life.

We tend to walk alone and forget the whole purpose of why we are on this Earth. From the very beginning we are designed to be transformed to His image. Hebrews 1:26-27. That is the whole purpose of life. Unless we are more and more like Jesus, we are unable to walk in the light throughout life. We tend to stumble into darkness now and then. Proverbs 4:18-19 concluded that our path should be like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. A righteous person has been delivered from the realm of darkness into the realm of light. Colossians 1:13.

It’s the spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing. John 6:63. So why cling onto the flesh? Walk in the spirit and shake off the flesh and be a new creation. Don’t dwell in the past. He is doing a new thing in your life. Isaiah 43:18-19.

How much more will He do for you now that you are under grace because of the crucification of Jesus on the cross and the power of His Resurrection! God be praised! Trust Him with your whole heart.
