7 “For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease.
8 Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground,
9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.
Today’s Inspiration: As we prepare for the opening of 2020 a year of victory, a word of caution is we cannot afford to be lukewarm or complacent. Isaiah 32:9. Those who are lukewarm will bear consequences. We need to be like the disciples in the Book of Acts who are prayerful corporately in one accord praying for Dunamis power. God is pouring out His sprit in 2020 like never before. Until the spirit is poured out, our efforts will not bear the fruit desired. V15.
Mark 4:40 The disciples panic during the storm and Jesus rebuked them for having fear and questioned them as to why they still have no faith. When we don’t have faith, we limit God. Yet Matthew 19:26 said ‘with man it is impossible but with God all things are possible.
Faith is a feeling, a conviction, a belief without justification. Fear is a strong uncontrollable emotion caused by actual or perceived danger or threat. God’s assurance of ‘Fear not’ appears 80 times in the Bible. The enemy uses ‘fear’ to limit our victories and paralyse our future. Isaiah 43:1 and Isaiah 41:10 are popular scriptures of ‘Fear not’.
When you have fear, you are looking within your ability but when you have faith, you look to Jesus who can perform the impossible like He did for Gideon with 300 men Judges 7:7 & 25.
Fear despairs like Saul when he was confronted by Goliath. Faith conquers like David who killed Goliath with one sling shot and Goliath’s sword. Fear and faith cannot reign in the same heart. Either you have Jesus or you allow the enemy of your soul to rule your life. What do you choose? In a time of trial, definitely no matter how much faith you have, it tends to waver like the disciples, but fear gets you nowhere. It is like a rocking chair. It rocks only but you cannot get to your destination. But if you allow faith to reign, you will win the battle over your flesh and your trials will depart.
Stay focused on your victory. Though 2020 seems gloomy, yet still trust the Lord. What He promised for 2020 for you will accomplish for you and not return to Him void. Isaiah 55:11. God be praised!
