22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Today’s Inspiration: Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed for His compassions never failed. They are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness. Lamentation 3:22-23. God honours every promise. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father rests on our faith and trust in Him. King David who spent much of his life fighting battles and facing his enemies know where to place His trust. Some trust in chariots, i.e. riches, he wrote and some in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord. Psalm 20:7. David knew that his heavenly Father was dependable and reliable. He knew that his Father will do what He promised to do.
We too can trust God because He is always trustworthy and faithful. Even when we break His promises, He still loves us and keep His promises to us. If we are faithless, He still remains faithful. 2 Timothy 2:13.
We need to take on God’s divine nature of faithfulness and trustworthiness. He is a model for all parents, spiritual or biological.
Promises cannot be taken for granted. Many make promises and broke them. Our heavenly Father is faithful to His promises. He told Jacob He will be with him and watch over him wherever he goes and will bring him back to the land. He will not leave him until He has done what He had promised. Genesis 28:15. God fulfilled this Promise to him and he accumulated wealth more than all that He had inherited from his ancestors Genesis 49:26. Patience in afflictions, we will attain what God has promised. It might delay but it will surely accomplish what the word was sent out to us for. Ezekiel 12:28 and Isaiah 55:11. God’s promises will never return to Him void.
As David said, if God’s law was not his delight, he would have perished in affliction. He will not forget His precepts for by them they preserved his life. Psalm 119:92-93. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him and to those who seek Him. Lamentations 3:25.
Men are not cast of by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, He will show compassion. So great is His unfailing love. He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men. V31-33. No discipline seems Good for the moment but painful, later on you will realise it produces righteousness and peace for those who are trained by it. Hebrews 12:11.
Like Job we cannot question Him or annul His judgement. Job 40:8. With patience and faith, God restored double what he has lost. Job 42:10. Job was upright but not righteous. Job was judged for his fear, and his pride. God began to question Job and shows His sovereignty to Job in Job 40-41 that led him to repentance. God exposed the folly of Job’s friends who did not speak right about Him. His friends took scriptures out of context to reason with Job the reason for his plight. We ought to know God’s heart and His purpose for our plight. Seek Him like David did. Psalm 139:23-24. God be praised./span>
