Exodus 31:18

18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

Today’s Inspiration: What is God speaking to you today? If the ten commandments were written or inscribed by the finger of God, then the commandments in the Bible must have originated from Him. Exodus 31:18. Today God is testing our hearts as to how much we believe in Him and how much are we willing to sacrifice to serve Him. Where your heart is there your treasure is. Matthew 12:34. We must be dressed ready for service and keep our lamps burning. V35.

To obey the call is to trust Christ completely. Will God supply all my needs if I were to sacrifice to serve Him? These are questions looming in one’s mind as he reflects on answering the call.

Today God is asking us to abandon our anxiety over what we are pondering at and to cast our cares and anxieties on Him. Psalm 55:22. Many a time we are excited about the call in our mind but our heart always draws us back.

An anxious heart weighs a man down. Proverbs 12:25. Physically this is so. Anxiety steals emotional peace and removes spiritual assistance. We should be captivated by God’s assurance of provision in Philippians 4:19 of God being our provider rather than captured by unbelief as to whether He will provide on time.

In fact worrying unnecessarily is a reflection of your lack of understanding of who our Father is. He tells us that if we seek His Kingdom which is within our heart and His righteousness which is also an inward virtue all things we desire will be added unto us. Matthew 6:33. Can we believe this Promise? Only His Kingdom is worthy of our ultimate concern.

Present problems really have past roots. Our present reactions are learnt from our early life. Emotional baggage of our past is not over till we address those issues. Years of exposure and experience in life have etched emotional groves inside of you which produces a certain type of reaction when a certain topic is introduced. Probing the past to discover how and when we have learnt these reactions is usually productive in seeking to gain control over them in order to change them.

Though stress seems to attack our body as one always profess, my view is more towards the attitude towards stress that matters. So long as stress don’t eat into our emotions, our anti-bodies will be enough to attack any virus. Stress is therefore a virus we need to confront. The root of stress is fear and anxiety. They are Siamese twins that are inseparable that are poisonous to our body. We must not look at surface of things.

God is wanting us always to invest in the Kingdom that is eternal. If our financial resources are idolatry to us they can be easily struck down. God hates covetousness which is idolatry. The more you hoard the more you lose. You can lose them to poor investments and poor health.

The crucial problem is not the amount of treasure we have but the location of it. The rich man’s treasure is on earth and building around it will not last because you cannot bring along to your eternal home. We must build our life around what can last. The disciple’s call is to be rich towards God with a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted. In 15 minutes by speaking to a man or woman you know where his or her treasure is. Is it in heaven or on earth? What about you? God is your security, your peace, your hope, your future, your sure foundation and your treasure. Trust Him completely with all your heart.
