Today’s Inspiration: Whoever accepts anyone accepts Jesus, and whoever accepts Him, accepts the One who sends Him. John 13:20. After saying this, his heart was greatly troubled in the spirit for he knew what is to come.
Sometimes we must be wondering why Jesus allows Judas to be the treasurer when he knows he could not be trusted and would betray him. It is so difficult to fathom what is God’s next strategy. We need to be alert and watchful. Before suddenlies come, we must be prepared for it. V21, 29.
In v34-35 He gave a new command to love one another as He loved us. It is only through loving one another that w can be identified by the world as His disciples. The assurance for them is that whatever we ask in His name, He will do it. So let our hearts not be troubled by His departure for greater things shall we do if we have faith in Him. John 14:1, 12.
Why would we do greater things? Because his spirit will live with us to guide, help and empower us. This confirms what Prophet Isaiah says in Isaiah 11:2 that the spirit of the Lord will be upon us to grant us wisdom, understanding, counsel, power, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. These seven spirits are also mentioned in Zechariah 4:2 as channels of light where everything w perform is not by might, not by power but by His spirit. V6. Therefore we should not judge by what we see nor make decisions by what we hear but with righteousness and justice to consider the needy and the poor. Isaiah 11:3. God be praised!
