2 Corinthians 9
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Today’s Inspiration: Sometimes we wonder why even the non believing are flourishing better than the believers. The reason is simple. God marked people especially leaders by their generosity. They give to charity they also give to their gods generously. We are redeemed by the Blood of Christ and He has prepared a place for us in heaven in John 14.1, all the more we should give generously to Him as He loves a cheerful giver in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.
Giving is likened to be a sowing seed, a universal principle easily seen by every culture. Proverbs 11:24 says seeds needs to be scattered to gain increase. The one who withholds more than is right leads to poverty.
The second principle is money must be invested well so that we will reap more than is sown. Many have wasted their money on wrong investments and make a great loss. Naomi lost all she had because she invested in Moab the wrong ground to sow. We should not sow among the thorns. The boy with two fishes and five loaves did not eat them but seeing the need of the multitudes and Jesus’ requirement, he invested them into the hands of Jesus and they multiplied to feed five thousand families. Where are you investing in your finances? Investment in the kingdom of God where you can grow is the best investment. King David invested in the kingdom of God continuously also imparting skills to the army of God and became so prosperous that he chose to build a magnificent temple for God that the whole world admires. He is the Living example of faith giving.
The third principle is when you adapt to consistent giving it is equivalent to watering seed one has already sown. The person who continually sows seed faith, will yield a harvest continuously. We should never stop sowing. Leaders must lead by giving throughout the realm of their service. David and his men give willingly to build the temple of God and recognises all wealth and riches comes from God. 1 Chronicles 29:16-18.
Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:10 that he who plows in hope and threshes in hope should be partakers of His hope. If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? Verse 12 if others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more?
We have sown spiritual seed in Voice in the marketplace since 2013 and have never asked you to plant a seed even though the Lord has commanded that those who preached the gospel should live from the gospel. I thank God for those who regularly sowed to Trinity Community Centre (TCC). At the moment TCC has a need to defray renovation costs for its new premises to move into the land filled with milk and honey the land we call Goshen which will be a flourishing land for salvation of souls. Those who sow to this land will flourish as the earlier churches who were planted in the same venue expanded exponentially and were able to buy their own building. If you feel led to sow, please issue your cheque to Trinity Community Centre. I am sure you will be abundantly blessed by God. We are now embarking a project to reach out to marketplace outside the church. May God inspire your hearts to give towards the salvation of souls in the marketplace!
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all and may God’s love abound in you to obey the Great commandment of loving one another and the Great Commission to make disciples. May all your seeds be fruitful and multiply.
