11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
How awesome is God’s instruction! A timely word well delivered is like apples of gold in settings of silver. How beautifully expressed is God’s word! Many a time we meant well for others especially for our family but it ends up in boomerang or fiery darts back to us that we have to quench them.
We need to use the appropriate words that comes not out of an angry spirit but of a loving heart in fear of the Lord. Pro 25:11.
Look at the next verse. When we rebuke we must rebuke in love as Apostle Paul advised us. Our preaching and rebuke must be of demonstration of the Holy spirit’s power. King Solomon compared wise rebuke from the word of God as a rebuker to an obedient heart. If we rebuke with God’s word and they refuse to abide then we are throwing pearls to swines and let them return to their vomit as what Jesus taught his disciples.
We will nurture and correct only those who are teachable and obedient. Only those with an obedient heart eat the best of the land. Isa 1:19. So let us digest words of wisdom from scriptures wisely and offer only to those with an obedient heart.
